Here is comes... It is poor because it is an over cast sky. The sky is brighter than the train. The train is dull. The picture is to cropped. It is poor cropping. the second engine gets cut off in a bad place. Otherwise, if you stand close to the tracks, and it is a clear day, and the sun is on your side of the tracks, it should be accepted.

Sometimes, their rejections are bogus though. I will agree with you on that.

That is absolutely ridiculous! That Metra Pic was the sort that made me stop and just look at the photo for a minute or so, really crisp, clear and vibrant colours. I suggest you should appeal that one pronto, I've seen some crap get accepted to that site and the fact they rejected that just goes to show how retarded they really are.

Thank you veyr much for the kind words stagecoachdriverdave. I did appeal it twice, and re-uploaded it, and got the same rejection twice, and my appeals rejected. Even the people on the railpictures.net forums didn't agree with the rejection. The screener said, we have our reasons for doing what we do." And that was the end of the topic. To take a good picture, think like a screener. What would get rejected or accepted, and from their, base your opinion off of how you should take the picture. I like to have alot of background in my pictures. I shot wedgie that day because I wanted to try something new. Wedgie is new for me. Even though I shot wedgie that day, I still got the signal bridge and trees in the background. Try to take pictures like that, but have the train right in the center of the picture. I am positive that when you do that, they will get accepted. Now, if you do it over the summer, you are screwed. I joined railpictures.net in the late summer early September and still got high sun rejections. It is with out a doubt bogus .We can't controll where the sun is, and why should on shadow ruin a perfect picture? Alot of poeple agree with me on that. though, this summer, I did see alot of high-sun pix get accepted into the database. I can't expalin their actions sometimes. They accept this piece of crap

And reject reject my picture of the cab car.:'( I am not a screener, but if I was, I would not necessarily lighten up and make it easier, but I wouldn't be as much of a hard a$$ as they are right now.

i got another picture better sky better veiw right next to the tracks... REJECTED this was when the storm was moving in yesterday... it was taken by my grandpa's/aunt

the only thing i could see it being rejected for is it wasnt taken by you.
also did you post it here at its original size or is it bigger than that?
at that size you wont get anything accepted

sadly, its the real size =(, i 'm still getting used too the camera its a 150$ camera from canon very nice camera and yes this picture was by me.
