2 questions about downloaded content

My first question is:

If I were to download a layout that has assets I already have does the CMP download them again and overwrite or does it recognise that I already have them?

Second:

Is there any way to save all the content I have downloaded to another location in the case that I would uninstall Trainz2006 and then reinstall it?

thanks for any help, John

Answers:
1. CMP first checks if you have any of the desired content in your local folder and then only downloads those items that you don't have.

2. The ..\Program Files\Auran\TRS2006\local folder contains all of your not-builtin content. This includes everything you've downloaded and everything that you've created or modified. If you make a copy of your local folder in a different place (on a hard drive, CD or DVD) you will be able to restore your TRS2006 in the event of a reinstall.

The only time that CMP will re-download an object that already exists on your machine is if it has a KUID2 number where the last digit has been incremented. this means that the object has been updated and it replaces the object that is the same but older.
