'19 to Platinum

Good morning folks,
I've been considering upgrading to Platinum from classic '19 mostly just for the drive/surveyor interface. Two questions...
Will Platinum simply overwrite the existing '19 and transfer my custom content?
I think I read somewhere that Platinum now has the ability to delete the unwanted Payware so I don't have to scroll through it to get to the routes I'm using. Is this correct? If so, that will definitely be a bonus!

The first thing you need to do before you do anything else is backup your classic TS2019 installation making sure you backup the database file as well. Only then should you even start thinking about upgrading to Platinum.

I did this and this is the steps I have found to have the least amount of problems.

1) Back up your assets that you made (and 3rd party) as CDP files. Then install Platinum. Once the installation is complete

2) Find your installation folder and look for this file 'userdata-redirect-map.txt' file. Then save a backup of it and edit it. Remove the Trainz Standard line if it's there. The file will look like this;

Original
Code:
"d:/trainz/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/[your user]/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build [old build number]"
"d:/trainz/trainz 2019 platnum/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/[your user]/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build [new build number]"

New
Code:
"d:/trainz/trainz 2019 platnum/trainz railroad simulator 2019" "C:/Users/[your user]/AppData/Local/N3V Games/trs19/build [new build number]"

3) Then use the Content Store from the Launcher to make sure you are fully updated.

4) Now you can drag your CDP files into the Content Manager to import them.

Allow time when opening program to pre-cache assets as they after they are loaded. This takes some time in cases.

Platinum is worth it. Good Luck.

Thanks folks, but I think I'll take the advice of Chris's signature line and "If it's not broke, don't fix it".
To me it's irritating. Auran won't let us remove the unwanted payware routes with a simple "click" yet it's been posted on here how to go into the files and manually remove them.
And now regarding upgrading? When you go from one internet browser to another, you always have the ability to import your favorites. Why can't the upgrade routine say" We detected Trainz XYZ on your computer. Would you like to import compatible 3rd party content?"
Trainz reminds me of a meteor traveling through the sky with bits and pieces breaking off as it goes along. Every upgrade leaves debris behind in the way of broken content and before it's completely patched up, another version is released. And then there's little annoyances like the two simple fixes above.

Maybe I just need another cup of coffee :(

rick1958-
You can easily remove payware routes now in the in game "Content Store" - just select the route and click "Uninstall"

You can also easily make any route, session, asset "inactive" in the Content Manager so it doesn't show even if installed.

As for importing compatible 3rd party content... I don't understand you question I guess. Do you mean Freeware that you already have/had installed? You can point the new installed Platinum to your same old user data so you don't have to re-download anything.

All new installs of TRS19 create new folders, they don't affect other installed versions. They create a separate folder for each install with a different build number for each install. Once a new install is created look for the build folder (launch/settings/install). Just cut and paste the build folder to the location you want it to be. Copy the old build folder from the other version and place it next to the moved one. Change the path in settings/install to the copied build folder and do a DBR.
