Hi,
I have been wondering, What is the realistic maximum amount of baseboards ever used in Trainz?. These day's games are getting to the point of being able to incorperate 500 even 600 KM of game play Terrain for players to explore!. These games to my knowlege use a simple system of only loading Immediate Sections that the player can see and leaves the rest out of ram untill the players view gets to a point of seing beyond the current section, and then loads the new section in to ram, as the player enteres the new section the Previouse section is slowly Decompiled just out of sight of the user and then dropped from ram. With trainz i have been trying to understand how the game treates Base boards and if trainz will pack in if one were to create a Ridiculouse 10.000 base boards and just happen to create a realistic representation of say "New south wales state of Australia" and used trans dem to generate all of those base boards, then realistically detail those baseboards to perfection?. Trainz has continually facenated me by how it Amaizingly creates that world of wonder and lets us dream up all kinds of creativity of landscapes so Realistically that i could see what its like to have a Trans Australia VFT Route and my Block of land be its East coast station (I wish, Id be a Millionare). Point of this post is what are Trainz Possible limits with how big a route could possibly be Created, or could one really create a 10.000 Square Baseboard route and trainz be ok to run this? (Even if our PC could not handle it? and we went to a nasa super Computer?). Id love to hear everyones Thaughts on trainz limits and who hase done an Extreeme route.
Thanks Everyone! Best from- Azurerail
