Sometimes I'll just put track over road without even linking the track to the road. There are crossing pads that you can place on the track to go on the road.

Well, that's a pretty bad bug to not fix. So, it's not present in Trainz 12 and earlier? But, I have moved on to 19 and 22. I couldn't figure out the do it yourself crossings and I like the convenience of the ready made crossings, like the bnsf50 ones and others.

Somebody is working on the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad which is the short line operator of former DL&W to Portland, PA and former D&H to Carbondale, PA. There is a DEM of Carbondale to Tobyhanna through Scranton on the DLS. It's called Del-Lack.

The UK has preserved steam tourist likes like the US does but they have a lot more mainline steam excursions than the US currently does. US class 1's except UP have a negative attitude toward steam excursions. NS had them again from Sept. 2011 through May 2017.

Google Earth Pro might show where cuts and fills are on a railroad because it's in 3D and you can zoom up to ground level. Sometimes DEM heights will be off. Google Earth Pro can show the height of anywhere. But you have to set it to meters because Trainz only displays ground heights in meters.
