Steamshots USA..Lets See Some Steam Shots..

It took me five days, back when the route first came out. It was worth it. (One dep is a command that comes with the payware Marias Pass, but it can easily be replaced)

"That'll do!" exclaims the brakeman that's helping the engineer of the little KGJ&E tea kettle spot the Bureau of Mines' "mine rescue car" on the team track beside the Macdonald depot. The special car, along with several instructors and officials from the Bureau of Mines, will be in town all this week to train the area's coal miners in safety and rescue- and first-aid equipment and methods. On Saturday "rescue teams" from more than a dozen coal mines will gather at the town's softball field to compete against each other to make sure they'll be prepared in the event that an actual mine accident occurs. A large crowd consisting of miners' friends and family members, curious town folk, mine officials, and local politicians is expected but ardent spirits are prohibited (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) at the event according to county sheriff Tony "Brass Knuckles" Williams.

...
Wow, that looks like the Strasburg to Paradise, Pennsylvania run to me. In fact, I sat at the intersection that looks like this screen capture a couple months ago, just to watch the train go by.

What is this route? Thanks!

Finally, I've tried to put this picture together for years but my old computer never really did it justice.

Locomotives by anl, thecowboy, rudolf3610, pendolino, and, of course, bdaneal. (oh yes the Big Boy by Auran too)

Surprisingly good actually!

I've never figured out how to get the frame rate out of all those stats but I didn't see any jerkiness running the 4-4-0 off the turntable and she's going flat out in this screenie.

There is some elapsed time for redrawing when switching viewpoints and I haven't found time to do some serious freight hauling over the hump but I am seriously happy with my ASUS G10.

Best upgrade I did recently was a nice video card (GTX970) it made a lot of difference even in TS12.

Yup
CPU i7-4790 3.6Mhz
RAM DDR3 16GB
Video NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 4GB DDR5
OS Win 8.1
$1500

Makes all the difference in the world although I discovered that planting 100s of mile long sugar cane splines could choke it down to a crawl. :hehe:

Do I see some fictional engines in there?

Yes, the Huge Boys from Trainz Italia; UP8000 by rudolf3610 and UP8003 repaint by pendolino. Now that I've got a decent system I'll be taking those over the hump one of these days. (I've got a 147 boxcar string that one of thecowboy's UP9000 brought off the plains should be fun if I can find the time.)
