Combwich & Session

Hi guys/gals

this is just a quick note
Today I uploaded a Route & Session

The Route ( Branch Line Terminal ) is based on an actual model layout in the UK, It has been set up the same way with fiddle yard !!

the reason I mention it here is because after I had sent it up I noticed 2 small things that may be of importance to anyone wishing to run the session.

1/ I used Pikabirds 0-6-0 Fowler :D to do the yard shunting it a very nice well behaved engine but is not afvailable at the DLS :( you need to get it from his site ( its free ) and is well worth having.

2/ in the intro I mentioned to sit over the station like in the screen shot but this is wrong as I put the wrong shot in, best to sit between the factory chimmny and the terrace house at the end of the platform you can then watch all the action, the session is AI controled and runns for 58mins. then starts over again.

anyway it should be available soon ( I hope ), any feed back would be welcome.

Can anyone tell me where i can find them ?

Have you thought of putting the first five digits in a search on the DLS and seeing if you can come up with a username?

Non of those missing items are on the DLS or on the author's web site. Haven't a clue where to get them. I don't think they will effect the session though. So just delete missing assets and be done with them. :D
By the way, the Fowler 3F (Jinty), is by PikkaBird (two k's). "Edit - His web site is www.pikkarail.com but his loco is supposed to be at rail-sim.co.uk. The two jinty's on that site don't work with this session, so I need help! Kelly88 - what's up??? "

I have recived an E-mail from Auran to say they have contacted the relevent people and ask them to upload the missing items ?

Its true I have the West Somerset payware installed, but when you are building a route its not always noticable were the content you use originates from, I will try to check out the items and see what I can do
if they are from th WS System maybe they dont let me upload them !!

Other wise I will need to see if I can replace the items with something else

I was going to replace the 0-6-0 Fowler with something else before uploading, but at the end forgot SORRY, but it is available from Pickkabirds site but it is in several pakages (4 if I remember correct) and you need to install all of them,
Is it possible to send a CMP file by E-Mail as an attchment, if so maybe I could send them to you ?

You could edit the session and substitue another shunter, dont forget to change the reference in the driver comands
My Jinty came straight from Pickkabirds site I also had problems at first until I realised you have to instal the couplers as well as a different package !

Thanks for the help, Kelly88. I actually had the correct locomotive, (The black Jinty from rail-sim), but for some reason it wasn't showing up in the session. I deleted the map and session and reinstalled them. Bingo! There it was. A very nice piece of work, too.
So the only thing that appeared to be amiss is the dockside coal loading/unloading thingy. The attached track had vanished for some reason. But it's OK now. I just reinstalled it.:D
Things are still not running quite smoothly, though.
The trains are doing a lot of "waiting for track clearance", which requires intervention. Anybody else having this problem??

Well the session as I said takes about 57 min to complete 1 cycle
It is a small branch line so the action is not superfast anyway
If the engines are waiting for track clearence it is because another unit has it under control.
I spent several days getting the timing so that the AI did not block up completly, this ment that some times there was a small period of inaction , I think the longest was 5 mins.
It was also required that the Godds train had to leave the staition before the loco with the red coaches so that the shedule in the fiddle yard worked, the timing was so close sometimes that 1 unit would just clear the points in time for the 2nd to pass
also the small unit doing the shunting from the mine to the yard did not always follow the same pattern for load and discharge, but he always got there in the end, 1 point though half way through the 3rd cycle he would run out og coal and water and stop, but the session was only ment to run 1 time just to show the layout working, I have several othe sessions here some run for 3 hours with a lot more different locos pass/goods arriving and leaving, but this was set up to display at our local model railway clubs exibition, In the new year the club is going to start to build this layout in HO scale.

All the Kuids starting with 75805 are from Pterodacyl and are from the West Somerset Line by Just Trains " TRAIN DRIVER " which installs to TRAINZ as an extention, and is a very nice well behaved addon, I also think I have seen this advertised somewere on the Auran Site !

I will see if I can remake the layout and change these items for something on the DLS, but dont hold your breath to long as I ame busy at the moment Building a new house

There are apparantly 2 other items that have been reported missing
Both from Skipper1945
GWR Tipper Truck Kuid:116296:16048:127
Sign bus stop Kuid:116296:16115:127

2 of the A25 Items will probably cause trouble running the layout
1 is a Ground Signal
1 is embedded Track

I got it running pretty well after a few tweeks. I replaced the embedded track with the "rail only" MP low poly track. I also added a few invisible signals where I thought they may be needed to stop the balking of locos at certain locations. It's a fun little layout. I really think you should make a versionII with all DLS stuff included. Please.:)

All of the West Somerset items are prefixed A25 and I guess therefore are not too difficult to exclude from routes. As they are commercial you can use them in a route but not distribute them, this means the person d/ling your route must buy the commercial package or exclude all of these objects.

I am having trouble with the Jinty 3F-On PikkaRail the 3F link is "Not Found" and the versions on the Trainz Classics UK and Settle and Carlisle sites are missing the following:

For the MR Red scheme:
Unknown Location: <kuid:44090:50044>
Unknown Location: <kuid:44090:50046>
These are both bogies. Other items show as missing, but they can all be replaced.

For the BR Black version:
Unknown Location: <kuid:44090:50116> one of the bogies
Unknown Location: <kuid:44090:57103> crew_skins
Unknown Location: <kuid:44090:635> crew1
Unknown Location: <kuid:44090:636> crew0
Unknown Location: <kuid:44090:57126> Numbers
