This link would suggest that the China Train is not the fastest, perhaps its based on average speed, or over distance???

That makes sense to me. Hopefully it was designed properly and tested thoroughly. There is a...pressure to rush things out here and that can often lead to mistakes. Hopefully it will continue to be safe, affordable and fast. I think I saw a nuclear power plant in the background too, so hopefully it's powered by something cleaner and safer (for the Chinese miners' sake) than coal.
