Lost Eurostar - Abandoned high-speed train

What was once one of the most technologically advanced trains now sits on a siding in the middle of nowhere, slowly decaying, and a victim of graffiti and vandalism.

I remember when these were brand new- I feel so old!

Regrettably trains don't seem to last too long nowadays, especially intensively used ones like the Eurostar. A good example is Japan- the original 0 Series lasted 44 years from 1964 to 2008 whilst the 400 series didn't even make 20 IIRC. They were all gone by 2011. Some original Eurostars do remain in service but many (most?) have been scrapped. A couple have been refurbished; I believe they have capabilities which the replacement Velaros do not.

The Acela is next it seems...
 
It costs a lot to maintain as the technology is not very common on the others TGVs so it's cheaper to buy new trainset
