Your favorite Assets from the DLS, as suggestions.

Trainz POW MIA
-Ack, I've decided that I don't have the extent of time required to search through the entire DLS for assets. Would some of you mind replying with some of your favorite assets from the DLS, and I will download those, instead. I am not looking for routes, just assets in which I can create with. Thanks for the help.

Oooh. There are far too many great assets on the DLS for me to even think about. ;) Generally, you determine what assets you would like to see in Trainz, and then go searching for them. You will often end up with a multi-gigabyte collection of assets, but it takes time to get so many. Sometimes you find stuff because it was what you were looking for, other times you just happen to stumble upon it as you search for something else. ;)

Regards.

That searching is what I have been doing so far. I just wanted some suggestions from other users as far as a few of their favorites.

re favorite assets

I also have too many favorites to list.

I suggest you ask a question such as "I am looking for a xxx (type of building, road spline, light rail train, etc, etc) - what do you recommend?"

This is a hard question to answer because of many reasons including what era are you modeling, or what area in the world or country? If you're modeling the modern USA, for example, is it in the South or Northeast, or example? This makes a big difference. In the Northeast, for example, you can get away with some of the British-style buildings from Domsarto (DS). His Georgian buildings are right at home in Baltimore, Boston, Salem, or even Andover. In New England and in particular eastern Massachusetts, we have lots of Georgian and Federalist homes from the mid to late 18th century. These look just like Dom's buildings.

Here's a clapboard versions:

Brick Georgian/Federalist homes on Beacon Hill on Boston.

Then there are Victorian row houses and individual mansions as well as Mansard roofed houses, etc.

Even the mills are similar to what was found earlier in England. In fact that's where the mill style came from in the first place.

I could go on, but as you can see this could be a daunting task. The best thing is to aquire the assets that you like, and are in search of at the time of your project.

Thanks so far. Listing the IDs of the creators with the quality content was really what I was looking for, such as the fore mentioned: Domsarto and Kenichiro...
