Exactly. Just got a brand new laptop 2 days ago, obviously it has windows 7. I am attempting to learn it more in depth, however it is painful. Even when I was at work dealing with XP,Vista and 7 I never really ever had to "Fix" a windows 7 or vista computer. XPs were always the one to come through the doors. So it may say something, however I still prefer XP and would install it on the laptop in a heart beat if I knew there were drivers avalible, but there aren't.tell me about it.... it is getting aggrivating rite here lately... im going back to something i know and how to tweak LoL

It really is not an issue for the run of the mill person who is just looking for a computer to do word processing etc.Same here. If the vendor still allows returns, I recommend checking out Tigerdirect. You can get new laptops with XP "downgrades" (lol, funny the misuse of the term; if anything, Vista and W7 are major downgrades...) And if you want to go cheap you can get recent off-lease laptops as well.
And if it is too late to return it, I still wish you luck.

However I do have more knowledge then most when it comes to computers, and Windows 7 makes everything I do on XP a nightmare.
However I do need to get acquainted with the OS to keep up with the times, so I can repair someones issue with a Windows 7 based PC in a more timely manner, rather then scratching my head for about 10 minutes, then click a few times, then scratch my head for another 10 minutes or so.. Otherwise I would be out of a job sooner or later as XP falls out of the loop in favor of these new things.
Although XP will still be the standard for at least another year, but there is no guarantee once Microsoft dumps support for XP SP3 that the commercial and private businesses will still keep there XP based computer in fear that a new fangled virus may penetrate and take valuable and sensitive information because Microsoft no longer updates XP.
