I was given a copy of "Trainz Simulator 2009". After installation I am having all sorts of issues with running the sim. I have win7 o.s. is that the trouble?. As, every so often I am told that it (whatever that is, its not made clear), is "incompatible". When I try to run in compatibility mode, e.g. win xp sp2, it still will not finish loading so I can not drive the trains. It simply freezes my pc and I have to run task manager to close the sim. Does anyone know whats happening?.

Do not run 2009 in XP compatibility mode, it is a Win7 / Vista compatible program.

Unless you are not patched up to date, your problem is probably that you need to install, patch and run Trainz as administrator in Windows 7, blame Microsoft........

You also need to install DirectX9c alongside DX10 /11 and make sure you have openGL drivers.

Plenty of info in the 2009 forum if you continue to get problems.

To run as administrator, right click on the icon, or programs executable file and either select Run this program as administrator every time, or to make it permanent select properties, compatibility, run this program as Administrator.
