Hi there
Something you should be aware of just incase
I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64bit with 9600gt Video cards
The drivers installed were 8.17.12.5896
Dated 7.9.2010
The windows decided to do an auto update which included video drivers. After they updated the following drivers were installed
8.17.11.9745
dated 4.3.2010
I then went into Device Manager & checked the driver versions & selected update drivers only to be told no better drivers could be found & they were up to date.
I had to download the latest drivers from Nvidia & manually reinstall the drivers which had been removed during the update.
I can only guess windows is only looking at the last four characters of the installed driver when deciding to update them.
To be certain I went back to device manager & tried update drivers again it found new drivers & rolled them back again
Has any one else noticed drivers being auto updated to a previous version ?
I would suggest checking your driver versions just in case you have been rolled back also during a windows update & not realized it has happened.
Dave
