I am running Windows 7 64 bit first off so everything runs fine. I am trying to install TGATool so i can work on some of my locomotive reskins but I am having issues installing it. I keep getting an error message saying it is not a valid Win32 application. Anyone ever seen this before? I am doing some checking around but havent found any way to fix this? Any Ideas? Is there another program that I can use to convert the TGA files so that I could work on them in Paint Shop Pro?

Have you or you going to install PEVsoft's Images2TGA which should allow you to convert any TGA file to a file of you choice.

Assuming it's the same TGATool I have here in Win7 it didn't need installing, just unzip to a folder and create a shortcut. Works OK and is supposed to work in Win7, not using an old version perhaps?

Ok I got TGATool to work, now I am just trying to figure out how to save the re-skin which is being a pain so far. its been so long since Ive done this and so many things have changed that its all new to me again. Ive got the reskin done and ready to be exported, It has no alpha textures so Im choosing Ace (no alpha) but when I try to save it it says Unable to create Direct3D device. I have never seen this before in the past when I would do reskins so I am pretty much stuck.

As previously suggested, maybe you should try Images2TGA. It's Trainz friendly and you can link Paint Shop Pro to invoke an editor when you need it. I use it to manage alpha channels as most of the editing programs I have don't seem to like directly manipulating alpha channels.

Just an update, I did a little twicking with TGA Tool and now it works just fine, everything is in place and working the way it needs to, happy happy happy.
