Hi,
This is sravan, one among you, after seeing people posting abt their installation, i would like to help them in installing them game, i have exp in installing softwares, games from 7 yrs , so i jus want to help.if any people need help can
message here.

Great, good to have a person willing to help others.

I have heard that interrupting or canceling a SP will corrupt Trainz requiring a complete re-installation.

Sometimes a SP can take overnight or sometimes much longer.

It may look locked up, and seem like it is doing nothing ... but your PC is busy, silently processing and installing millions of bytes of SP data.

I learned that the hard way... Luckily, I had not installed any cusom content.

Thanks, yeah sp will take more time to install, shuld not interrupt,as it appears nothing is happening but it will work background.

1. I Bought Classic Cabon City Addon & installed it as a Stand Alone.
2. I bought and installed TRS 2009 World Builder, followed by TRS 2010 Engineer Edition (Which Vista put into a sub-folder of TRS2009).
3. I added the Blue Comet Addon to TRS 2010.

Everything was working OK; but separately ( Cabon City was not in 2009, 2009 content and routes were separate from 2010, and the blue comet showed up in 2010 content but wouldn't appear on any routes.).

4. I have downloaded content from the DLS on a FCT into 2010; which I do not want to lose.

Now, TRS2009 says it needs to be reinstalled.

Since TRS2010 is in a sub-folder to TRS 2009 what happens when I reinstall TRS2009 ??? Do I lose everything and have to start over ??

Is there a Correct Order or Priority method of re-installing which would get everything to work together in Compatability Mode under TRS 2010 , or is that possible to accomplish ??

One thing I do know about installing SPs for Trainz, is that it runs quickest if the following conditions are met:

1.Not connected to the Internet.
2.Antivirus is turned off.
3.Only built-in content is installed (no custom content)
4.If running Windows Vista/7, making sure all application files in the Trainz folder and it's subfolders are running as admin.

I'm a bit confused there (not sure about others) - is it actually a good idea to have TS2010 installed inside the TS2009 folder? I always install them in seperate folders, under the same root folder (with my TRS2006 and TS2009 for example. I have them installed in C:/Trainz 2006 and C:/TrainzSimulator2009 respectively.

Shane

EDIT: Apologies sraven if I have stepped on your toes.

Generally as shane said, it will install separately, like c:/auran/ts2010. and c:/auran/ts2009. so i dont think if u install again 2009 its will delete.

vista is mysterious

when I installed TRS 2010, I was asked if I wanted to combine it with TRS 2009 or install it as a Stand Alone.

I chose "Stand Alone"; but it ended up as a Sub-Folder to TRS 2009. ( c:\Auran\TS2009\TS2010 )

I thought it was odd; because "Classic Cabon City" is
C:\Auran\TS2009_Cabon_City... all by itself; but I installed that program first as a test to see if my Vista 64 would work with Trainz or be a total pain like it has with other software.

I think the problem with the Blue Comet is that it was installed in C:\Auran\TS2010; but there is nothing else there (although it does show up in the TRS 2010 "Railyard" and Content list in Surveyor.

That sounds like a problem waiting to happen to me - it should never install one version of Trainz into a subfolder of another version.

Re-install it, and make sure it's not installing it into the TS2009 folder (and remember to run the installer and the game as admin)

life after reinstalling

I removed TS2009 completely, then re-structured the c:\Auran folder hierarchy, and finally reinstalled TS2009 separately from TS2010.

The helpdesk advised me on how to get the Blue Comet to appear.

So, now the Cabon City; TS2009; TS2010 and the Blue Comet all work just fine, and I didn't lose any content.

Thanks to all of you who replied to my questions for your help.
