Hi all,
I am thinking from few days is there any chance we all can meet at some common place every year showing our love for trainz.
I suggest the place may be some rail museum or famous train spotting place. Its specific to country

A great place would be the EBT RR Fall Spectacular Weekend (October 14, 15, 16) in Rockhill/Orbisonia Pa ... a bit far of a jaunt for Scotts though.:hehe:

Or he Scrapple Fest in Philadelphia (Jan 1st). Yum !:p Scawaaaapple (It has everything including the squeel, to the little tassle tail ... is just untrue) !

Sure, India's not that far is it? What train do I get and should I pack some lunch, or will I get there in time for tea? :p

Which group was it that went to the EBT on a railfan trip for the weekend last year. Whichever group they were from, I met one, really nice guy.

In reality, airline tickets can be obtained pretty cheaply if you, say, pick a date in February or November away from school holidays and book early enough to snap up the low fares. (Not November for New York though, 'cos that's when the Christmas shopping trips start and air fares ramp up a bit!)

If you were to pick an international airport hub that has loads and loads of flights with loads and loads of airlines going into it, such as New York for example (with both JFK and EWR serving most of the world's airlines) then there is a sort of feasability about sravan's suggestion.

Of course, our US friends might like to travel somewhere too, so perhaps a year or two later, we coud traipse down to Delhi and see the wonderful Indian Railways in action as well as seeing the Taj Mahal and the Golden Temple of Amritsar where the Sikh's welcome all comers from every corner of the world.

New York, too, has Grand Central Station - an awe inspiring meeting point if ever there was one - and plenty of shopping and sightseeing if one's husband/wife/partner thinks its all Trainz Trainz Trainz!

Maybe N3V / Auran could look at the feasability of a global journey? After all, it would be great to have the opportunity to meet the enthusiast part of the N3V / Auran Team - particularly those who are most helpful on the forum!

Paris might be better, London has the dreaded green tax these days for long flights to New York to GBP£60 whilst Paris is around GBP£12. I flew through Paris last time I visited London, its not only cheaper but you get to avoid Heathrow and the Heathrow Express tax of GBP£32 if you use the city airport.

I know the pound is dropping but saving 80 quid is still $120.

Cheerio John
