Why do people Quote a photo ?

Don't they know that in "Source" or "Advanced Edit" that you can take out the image tags (or disable them by just editing out just one ] or [ bracket) ?

I think that people who quote photos should be banned for a week as punishment.

I get so tired of seeing multiple photos being "Quoted" 2, 3, or more times per page.

Why do we need to see the same photos, "Quoted" over and over again ?

Perhaps the "Reply With Quote" button should be taken away from the forums, due to "Quoting Abuse".

I think it is appropriate (and do it frequently) where there are a LOT of photos when it might not be clear which photo you are referencing, or the post you are quoting may be 2 or 3 pages back or especially if you are referring to a single photo of a poster's group of photos "in this picture, what kind of grass is that?" so that the person who you are asking knows which of his pictures you are asking about grass in.

To simply quote somebody's group of 10 pictures just to say "Nice." at the bottom is asinine though.

I think the Reply With Quote feature is a very handy one.. It's just the abuse of it that denotes it's true value.

Simple solution to situation that requires referencing a picture and yet not quoting it: simply right click on the image in the original post > copy image location, and paste that link in your reply. People who cannot comprehend such simple steps should not be using a computer. People who are too lazy to do so should not be using a forum.

I wholeheartedly agree and would like to add that not only is it a waste of space, it's also a waste of bandwidth to quote more images than are absolutely needed. This may belong in the suggestion boxcar, but images in quotes should be resized to within 240x180 thumbnails.

Well Nick, some people on these forums (and I am not trying to attack anyone) are too stupid to even know how to do that.

I think that better moderation of the forums could do us all some good. Not saying that our moderators are doing a poor job, because they are doing quite superbly... I am just saying that the moderators can pitch in a little, and with everybody calling out the 'Picture Quoters', I think they'd learn a little faster from their mistake.

On a side note, related to better moderation and other various nuisances... We all get mad at people who make nonsensical blog posts, even some have turned into flame wars... I also think that better moderation of the blog section by removing those useless posts, and keeping the ones that matter, could do us all some good.

Well i do admit sometimes it can be annoying but i am on other Vbullitin forums and it doesn't happen maybe it is down to the Admins. and to be honest i find your signature annoying because its too big and pointless
