I am in Surveyor mode and all the industries are red and unavailable. What am I doing wrong? I am running Trainz 2010 EE. Please help!!!!

G'day gandlore,

Rest assured, good Sir, YOU have not done anything wrong (except, perhaps to download the items concerned). The 'red' colour of the text in which the names of these assets are written and the fact that they cannot be accessed in Surveyor is indicative of the fact that they are most likely assets developed for earlier versions of Trainz that contain errors not corrected by their developers that are only being 'flagged', now, by TS 2010 (and all future versions). Some of these errors are minor and can be 'corrected' easily by changes to the asset's config.txt file, depending upon the errors being 'flagged', others, unfortunately, require outside specialist programs (which are readily available) to make these corrections. I would suggest that you seek out the Asset-X thread in these pages for further information. Until the errors are corrected (if at all), you will not be able to use any of the assets so 'flagged'...

thank you.. i am horribly disappointed with this game and think it is entirely a waste of money....

Hi Gandlore. The problem is not with the game. Its excellent.
If the PC you are using is up to spec, then the problem lies in the space between the monitor and the chair. We have all been there especially us newbies
Cheers

It may be worth running an extended database repair, as well as checking for any faulty products.

Also, try the following process:

1.In Content Manager, do a search for FAULTY=TRUE
2.Once the results appear, click the top one then presS Ctrl and A.
3.Right-click the list and click View Errors and Warnings - wait until it says Task Complete.

Hopefully this will fix your industries, but if there are genuine errors with them, they will need fixing.

Also, if you are using native mode, you may find that the items will work in compatibility mode (You can access this by clicking Main Menu when in game, followed by Options, then tick the box related to compatibility mode (note that you need to restart Trainz for it to take effect)

thank you....yes i am a newby.....I tried the faulty=true search in the content manager and nothing comes up in the search.......my computer is up to spec and I have used all the previous industries in 2006 version.

In Content Manager, click File, then Extended Database Repair.

Note: it will take a while - wait for it to say Task Complete before closing the box.
