BUZZZZZ, Nope. Union Pacific was the SECOND largest buyer of the SD40-2 with 686 units.

My first guess was kinda me second guessing myself. But i'm going to use fifty fifty and go with BN? I've never heard of them before, but i'm not sure any of the other answers can be right

DING DING!! Yes the answer is BN. They ordered a whopping- 779 units!!

The second largest was Union pacific with- 686 units.

And the third largest was Canadian Pacific (CP) with- 484 units.

Q- In 1992 a railroad company leased a locomotive from Union Pacific, to be the leading unit in their Santa Train. What railroad company leased the locomotive, and what was the locomotive?

Note: All of these railroads listed ran Christmas Trains(to my knowledge) (or Santa Trains)

Grrrrrr I hate American questions!

But, since I'm here, I'm going to take a random and incorrect guess:

Canadian Pacific, the loco was UP 3985, the Challenger, I have a video of 3985 pulling a Santa train, but haven't watched for years. (Probaly because it's American)
 
Clinchfield (CSX) rented UP 3985 and dressed it up as a Clinchfield loco.

Santa Fe with there Various U30C Derivatives.
