Which way would turnouts be named?

Many diagrams don't actually show the turns and alignments of the tracks, but in this case it does. Eyeballing the line, the tracks appear exactly as shown.

Observe the diagram above. If this were a normal 2 track main J1 being lined straight ahead (for a train traveling A side to B side) it would be not dirverting, where as if it were lined for J2 it would be diverting.

In this case though, J1 being lined for J2 is the main "through" route. So would it be diverting or non-diverting?

This questing is for both signaling and for switch stands. For the stands I'm using, the "flag" is "|" for not divering and "O" for diverting.

If you use a group of signals using Jointed Rail's Smart Signal script, the signals for J1 and J2 should end with '06-RD', while the signal for J3 would end with '06-LD'. When you set up the straight route for J1 and J2, input 'L.F.'. For J3, leave it as just 'R'. 'RD' is short for 'Right Diverge', while 'LD' is 'Left Diverge'. If you want to, take a look at how the searchlight signals on 'Springfield Industrial District' at junctions are positioned and use this as a template for all your other routes.

Well this is an unsignaled block - I was more interested in switch levers. As in, there are ones that are "switchstand 1" and "switchstand 2" where when both are placed on the same side of the track, and with the same lining of the switch, #1's built in flag will show "main" while #2's built in flag will show "diverging".

You will have to edit the switch yourself, depending on hoe it's made it could be as simple as switching two texture files names (ex: main.tga to diverge.tga and vice versa) or as hard as entirely rotating several parts of the texture while keeping the rest of the textures untouched.

OH MY GOD...

Something must be SERIOUSLY wrong with my communications skills.

I am asking how the diagram I posted would be labeled. Which way would be considered Diverging. I am asking because these are switches where the "straight ahead" path is NOT the main line.

I am asking to determine what a switchstand should show.

I am NOT asking how to change an asset.

I am NOT asking how to signal the junctions.

simple answer: diverging is anything that moves away from the main flow of the line, regardless of how the alignment 'looks'. in the case of the switch markers, they should always show green when the main route is lined however that might appear at the switch. it is an important safety issue to convey this correctly in the real world.
