Which version creates the biggest maps ???

I currently have TRS2006, & was thinking of building a large map, but wanted to see if anyone has found other versions that are better suited for it.

When we built the ECML route for 2010, we tried merging the routes 3 parts in 2009 and it struggled, in 2010 its a breeze

2009/2010 are better for big maps than than 2006. I had a large map in 2006 that it could just handle really large. When I moved it to 2009 I was able to merge 2 more maps each of them roughly the same size as the original and 09/10 handle it no problem. The actual .gnd file saves smaller than a the same 2006 .gnd file.
