Where to find the D&RGW "Bumble Bee" engine and rolling stock

so it should look like this?

category-era-4 "1950s"
asset-filename "D&RGW_223_Tender"
"there is no warranty coming with the item, and I am absolutely NOT responsible for any damages that downloading or using this item may cause to you in any way."
the "item is copyrighted to the Todd W. Hohlenkamp who holds all rights to it."
this "README file MUST be included with the item at all times. Please do not redistribute this file from your own website as this may cause revision conflicts in the future."

As far as "mesh container" I have no clue what that is or where to find that. (Im not at all a computer person so everything your saying is new to me.)

Close... Note this carefully....

category-era-4 "1950s"

asset-filename "D&RGW_223_Tender"

This should be prefixed by license or description

"there is no warranty coming with the item, and I am absolutely NOT responsible for any damages that downloading or using this item may cause to you in any way. The "item is copyrighted to the Todd W. Hohlenkamp who holds all rights to it.
this README file MUST be included with the item at all times. Please do not redistribute this file from your own website as this may cause revision conflicts in the future."

Notice there is only one pair (set) of double-quotes and no hard-returns between the lines.

By container, this is where the affects and mesh are located. In this case, these may not exist. I can't verify because I don't have the access to Content Manager or Trainz for that matter to take a look.

Try removing "attachment" and see if that fixes the problem.

John, just tryed that, still getting the same errors. This is very frustrating. I dont understand how or why Auran makes this so difficult.

The only "container" anything i see is "view mesh technical detail's but thats not anything that can be edited.

Hi Josh,

Remember that once you edit something, you have to commit the asset afterwards before you load Trainz otherwise your changes won't appear.

As I've said before, I don't have access to either Trainz or Content Manager at the moment. Perhaps something else can help fill in the details.

You guys are really close to repairing the assets, believe me it shouldn't be this difficult, though it seems to be at times.

John

First of all Auran/N3V most probably did not manufacture the assets ... they were all created by 3rd party independent creators. So mistakes and typos are placed there by private creators who Auran/N3V allowed them to upload their faulty, error, missing dependency assets to the Auran/N3V repository library, which is the DLS.

Plenty of people will help you find missing dependencies, and correct errors.

I just ran into downloading Prowlers C-16 #223, and downloaded it to my TRS2006, and it crashed my CMP to desktop ... So I don't know what is up wit' dat' ... I previously had no problem fixing Prowlers other assets ... But I am working on it.

I too wish that Trainz did not check for errors ... and that it would just run faulty assets, the way they are ... but that is Trainz ... full of fixing other peoples typo's, and mistakes, in order to get them to run.

And we will help you fix them ... some assets are more error ridden than others ... and the higher the trainzbuild ... the more pickier Trainz is, and refuses to run UTC, 04, 06 error ridden assets.

But we will help you fix that too !

Be patient my friend, I learned something new today ... I don't know it all ... and I forgot more than you learned ... I tink' I got ol' timers ... Trainz hurtz' my bwainz' !

Hi bdkatz07, forget about prowler901's stuff for now. As you can see it takes a lot of knowledge and work to get some of the older stuff into the modern version of trainz.

This is what your son is looking for, I think.

To get these open start TS12 and open the Content Manager (Content tab on the start up screen), on the left side in the middle there should be a Search block. There is a drop down box which has Name in it now, do the pull down and find Author and in the empty box to the right type in togog. You should see a largish list of locomotives and rolling stock on the right. Slide on down to 2-8-0__DRGW_268_C-16 and right click on that. Top of the popup menu is Download, click on that. You can do the same for the tender and you will also find 3 coaches, 2 combine cars, and a baggage car in amongst all the other rolling stock togog has done.

If your son has his heart set on #473 you will have to get some tools, learn how to edit some files, and have some time.

Togog's #268

Prowler901's #473

Whitepass has also done some DRGW Bumblebee rolling stock which you can get via the Content Manager.
There are some advantages to Prowler901's and whitepass' stuff. They are interactive, that is to say they will load and unload passengers, and load coal, water, and sand. The #473 can also be fitted with a snow plow.

Edit: Prowler901's locomotives also have a more sophisticated in CAB driving capability too.

Edit again: togog has said that he is working on a version of #473, I think.

Error: The Tag 'there' is not permitted within a container of type 'traincar'.
Error: The Tag 'attachment' is not permitted within a container of type 'interior'.
Error: The Tag 'attachment' is not permitted within a container of type 'interior'.

those come from the 3 faulty items in the screen grab above.
Right-click on 'K-28 Tender Interior' in the Content Manager and select 'Edit in Explorer'. When the window comes up, select 'config.txt'. Scroll down to where you see:
attachment
{
}

Delete these three lines and will fix the Error. Repeat the process for 'K-28 Tender Doghouse Interior' and that should get rid of those two problems.

I know this is a very old thread, and. I am majorly jumping it, but a little history

The 268-It was a C-16 built by BLW in 1882, in 1949 it was selected to go to the World's Fair. 268, the nomad business car, a coach, and two open cars were painted yellow originally with three stripes and lettered for the fictional "Cripple Creek & Tin cup". When they returned the 268 was liked that way so she was left yellow while she hauled sheep from Gunnison, CO to Salida, CO under what is now the Blue Mesa Resivoir in the Black Canyon. Eventually the three strips turned to two in 1950/1951. It was later "restored" to as built with a diamond stack (pre-1914) for display in Denver. It has since returned to Gunnison and is D&RGW yellow with the diamond stack still, it is yellow too.
The 473- In 1951 for Publicity the K-28 473 was painted two stipe yellow with an entire set of coaches, "The Painted Train" to run to Silverton. The coaches originally had silver roofs to match the top of 473 p, but today most have gone to gray for cleaning purposes. All the K-28s eventually got the diamond stack, which was much to large. I loved it! In 1955 the two strips painted would turn to one black one. Not actually a painted stripe, but actually the window ledge painted black. Though when Bumble Bee the 473 and 268 still have two strips. When I spoke with Mr. Harper he says maybe in the future 473 will be bumble bee again.
I have both models working in TS12.
Personally I think Prowler's 268 is more prototypical, it has the yellow whistle lever, where togog's doesn't and the anti-rotation bars atop the bell, where togog's does not. One last detail is the air pump, it is gray in real life and on prowler's but black on togog's. Though togog's stack and quality is better.
On 473-Prowler's has a drive able with error cab. However, the stack is in scale with the engine, in real life it was over size, so the stack is to small. Prowler's dynamo is also a pipe, true to the era, but the painted train had a brass muffler, like the engines have today. On Togog's the stack is too large for the engine like it should be, the muffler is gleaming too.
The coaches- Combine 214 has 2 stripes and coach 254(?) open vestibule end. Coach 319 closed end and 2?? open vestibule end and combine 212 have 1 stripe.

And true for a movie (Rio Grande) C-19 345 (as 268) and C-18 319 were painted bumblebee with red domes and false small balloon stacks that were smokebox silver not painted yellow like present day 268's and black like 473's

Hope the trainz community enjoys this history.
