Where to find the D&RGW "Bumble Bee" engine and rolling stock

Hi,

Does anyone know if a third party has made the famously-yellow painted Denver & Rio Grande Western bumble bee scheme used on the Durango & Silverton line? My 6-year old is completely obsessed with trains, but especially this one. I'd love to find it for TS12. Thanks!

This may very well work, but it also may need some updating to work in TS12. Usually the errors are easy to fix. Post any errors you want fixing, and we can help you. We've been able to get most assets to work in the newer versions without too many problems.

Welcome to the forums, :)

John

OK, I have downloaded and installed, and it appears in the Create Route list. However, it is red and I can't select it. Does anyone know what's going on? I've actually had this problem where some purchased assets appearing red in this list. Help! Thanks, Dave

I downloaded the one made by togog into TS12 pre SP1 and it works perfectly
The one from Steam Machine has faults that need repairing because it was made for 2004.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike. I'll try tonight. As a side note, my 6-year old informed me yesterday that only the 473 was considered the Bumble Bee. Does anyone know if that's true? Surprisingly, he's often correct with knowing these details!

As I recall only C-16 #268 and C-17 #317 ever carried the Bumblebee paint.

The 473 was painted by the D&S for promotion of the line some time ago IIRC...

nfitzsimmons, you are a bit off there. The locos were painted for the movie Denver & Rio Grande. It was actually the C-18 319 and the C-19 345 used in the movie. 319 was the 268's stand in for the wreck scene. The only C-17 at that time was/still is RGS 42.

Thanks again, guys. I tried loading the 268 on TS12 and like the 473, it appears red in the list and does not seem to work. Does anyone have any other ideas?

did you load the togog one? I downloaded and installed it last night with no faults.
Are you downloading to TS12 SP1?
cheers,
Mike

Mike, I downloaded C-16 #268 KUID2:43955:2680:1 KUID2.43955:2681:1 but am unsure of the user ID associated with the file. As for SP1, I am also unsure of this. It says "Build 58414" at the bottom of the main window. Is this the latest? Sorry for my ignorance, my son and I are relatively new users.

, Im trying to download Prowlers stuff into trainz 2009, how do I change the build numbers so that they work? They show up in CM as being faulty. (New to this kind of CM so I dont know what to do)

When you bring up the main window, click on 'CONTENT'. This will take you to the Content Manager, 'CM' for short, is an inventory of everything you've installed and downloaded for TS12. It'll automatically bring up what you did today on Trainz. You'll notice on the left side of the screen three rows of boxes showing what you installed today and modified today. All of this can be changed. Click on the button showing "-" next to the box saying "AND", this will delete this row. Click the same box beside the two boxes that says "Date Modified" and the date, but keep the row with the "Date Installed" and the date. Click on the box with the arrow pointing down, which will bring up a listing of various ways to search for stuff, which is called 'Content'. Select 'Faulty' which will result in showing installed content that is faulty, which can be identified by a red '!'. Right-click on one of the faulty content and select 'View Errors & Warnings'. This will show what the errors are, identified by a red circle with a white 'X' in the center. What is shown beside this symbol is the Error and why it won't appear. I must also note that if there's a symbol that is a yellow triangle and a red '!' in it is an Warning, which you don't have to worry about. It won't cause any problems. Post what your problem is and someone will help you.
I had problems with Prowler901's (that's Prowler's name on here) content also, so here's a link to the thread:

Jordan would this help both of us at all?

What are the errors?

Right-click on the asset in Content Manager and choose View Errors and Warnings.

EDIT:

Josh, We both posted at the same time. Could you view errors and warnings and post the errors, please?

Error: The Tag 'there' is not permitted within a container of type 'traincar'.
Error: The Tag 'attachment' is not permitted within a container of type 'interior'.
Error: The Tag 'attachment' is not permitted within a container of type 'interior'.

those come from the 3 faulty items in the screen grab above.

These are easy. :)

Edit the config.txt files for these assets.

1) 'there' is probably part of a description and there was a hard return that put this on a separate line.

Edit this carefully and put the paragraph back together. There should only be 2 double-quotes " " on both ends.

2) and 3)

Look at the mesh container for these and delete the world attachment

I'm trying to do this from memory and on a computer without Trainz installed so I can't view config.txt files, but this is helpful and others can definitely get these working for you.
