There is no version called "Trainz 2018". To access the DLC you must have a registered version of Trainz. This will place your registered version name(s) in your "timeline" next to your user name at the top of your message posts - where it says "coctien12". You register by clicking the link "Register" at the very top of this page.

Hmm. There was a Trainz 2018 developer build, but that eventually became TRS19 a few versions later.

TRS 2018 never supported DLC and barely supported the built-in routes for testing purposes only. I'm not sure how you got a copy of this build, but it surely was not legally distributed.

I'm wondering whether this 'trains 2018' is actually 'train simulator 2018'.

If it is, this isn't the right place to be asking as DTG have their own Steam forums.
