What's your real life?

Hope you mean Aston Martin K4 ;)

Anyway my names Ryan Langley, i'm 15, 16 in january. I am a mechanic, I play guitar for a band (not the one in my signature :P ) and I also ride BMX :) I don't have much train related things in my life anymore as other things are taking it's place. I 3d design but I don't do that as much anymore because i'm usually out with my mates :)

Oh what the hey, I'll add my lack of life to this :hehe: My name is Leroy, I'm 34, married. I work for the largest Dental Equipment Manufacturer in North America, and have been there 10+ years. When I'm not doing whatever the Misses wants me to do :o , I'm playing Trainz, watching my Cubbies, OSU football & baseball, playing PS2 (mostly NCAA football), playing High Heat, listening to music, and trying to stay out of trouble with the wife :hehe: :hehe:

@Sean (LVMan) I was one of many who thought you were much older!:o

@Adam (Titanclover) Sounds like my HS years, I was a band geek too! :D

Well...

I just turned 17 and am heavily involved with the Agricultural Edication program at the Housatonic Valley Regional High School and am a proud member of the Housatonic Valley Chapter of the National Organization of the Future Farmers of America. I was elected last year as the chapter's Jr. Advisor, the first in the chapter's history. I was re-elected this year after being nominated for Treasurer but eventually ended up with Jr. Advisor again, after a power-struggle with the higher offices, which I'm happy to say, I chose to stay out of. I'm going to be a Senior this year and am looking forward to taking my second year of Ag Mechanics and my first year of Forestry. I love operating heavy equipment and am considered a veteran driver at school. I operate everything from a John Deere 6120 with a front loader and can operate several of it's implements, a New Holland LS170 Skidsteer and am very handy with the fork attachment, a 2001 Chevy Duramax diesel pickup with a crew cab and duellies, a Kubota L35 which I am asked to teach Freshmen Lifeskills student to operate, and every now and then the John Deere 2355 and/or the International dump body. I listen to lots of classic rock and my two all time favorite bands are Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin although lately I've had a thing for Neil Young and Rush. At home when I'm not using Trainz, I'm either reading (my latest book is I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert which I'm trying to finish to start reading some Isaac Asimov books I was given), playing my PS2 (Original Star Wars Battlefront!), messing with the train layout, talking to girlies, or playing a RTS (Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption) or World in Conflict, occasionally Star Wars Force Commander, Command and Conquer Generals, or Rise of Nations Thrones and Patriots) or the Star Wars X-Wing series. When I'm outside I'm either helping my dad fixing up his latest motorcycle, working for anyone who needs a work horse, playing with my dog, or just hiking and enjoying the natural beauty that Northwest Connecticut has to offer. Every now and then I'll head over to Rhinebeck, NY to check out some of the classic car shows, I am a big fan of '63 Vette Stingray Coupe's). Whenever I get the chance, I ride the Naugatuck Railroad and volunteer when I can. As far as work goes, I work after school as a custodian from 2:30 to 5:00/5:30 depending on how much work there is at $8 an hour without any complaint. All the money I make working after school is going towards a truck which will either be a Ford Ranger or a Dodge Dakota, although I wish it could be a Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins, but of course with diesel being $5 a gallon, I think a 4 or 6 cylinder truck will work just as well.

That's pretty much it :hehe:

What do I do besides Trainz? Not to put a fine point to it.....

Well Monday through Friday I'm a High School Freshman Student, taking Advanced Placement Classes. On Saturdays I go to church, as I'm a Seventh-Day Adventist. After church, I go to a really good friends place for lunch, and I do some fun activities over there. Then, I grab a ride home from them, as I don't have a car, and niether does my mother. After that, we may go shopping for groceries, but we usually do that on Fridays. In between all this time, I'm either seen sitting on my computer, or riding public transit. I don't like congestion :).... especially not Tampa Bay Congestion....

Isaac

EDIT: This December, the 6th.... Clear out the State Routes and Inter/Intrastates.... Just Clear the road, as I'm gonna be there. Unfortunately with a 21 year old(or older) person sitting right next to me. Hehe...... I actually do use my seatbelt, for those unaware :P

Wow Jesse, typing essay's another good hobby of yours?:D

@Sean (LVMan) I was one of many who thought you were much older!:o
ahaha, thank you. I try to portray myself better than 14, even though i act younger. People in my family, and some of my friends admit that i have matured much faster than people my age.
Cheers.
Sean

Me? I'm just a (straight-A) high school senior (PLEASE don't ask where I'm going to college, I don't know yet! :p). During my downtime, I railfan, volunteer at the local railroad museum, teach myself to play the guitar, and sing in the school choir (San Antonio, look out! We'll be in town mid-March), listen to Country music and movie soundtracks, and read my magazines (Trains, Garden Railways, Air & Space, and Popular Science).

Oh, and I take private railcar trips when I get the chance, usually in conjunction with attending a rail-related convention.

I'm such a hopeless railfan. :hehe:

I wasn't aware we were allowed lives outside trainz, leastways not alowwed to talk about them here :( anywys i 18 broken into many pieces, go to airshows and railways am a active member of sevral forums, but basically u know when they say theres always sum1 worse off then you, they mean me, i try to be likede but heu this ent the place for this sorta stuff soz

Outside of the Trainz world, I work full time building buses.
My wife and I run a small screen printing and embroidery business on the side.
We are currently in the process of totally restoring a 1973 Nova.
We have 6 kids and 1 grandchild.
I play softball on Fridays.

Other than that, I'm usually on the computer.

well ive been and done a lot of things but due to wrecked health im now a disabled pensioner at 35!

when not visiting one doctor or another i spend my time running around the countryside taking trips and when not doing that im also an active member of the RAOB (the BUFF Lodge).

and in between that I do the odd computer repair and train my dog Minnie.

that enough?

Well, I'm a ruthless drug baron...oh, damn, did I say that out loud:o

The truth you say?...I'm a student here in Australia, I volunteer on a semi-regular basis at the Zig Zag Railway, Lithgow, NSW, Australia.

I enjoy driving around the miniature live steam engines that run on 5" gauge track and I'm a hobby photographer, I prefer to photograph railway scenes in general but anything is good, as long as it makes for a half-decent photo.

I also like to drive Boobless_Ed the creator of this thread nuts on MSN...Hi...:Y:

Now now tom we both know you don't actually have a life:p

When I'm not at the trainz, I'm...busy...that simple...

Plus I like to go to model railroads. :p

I also like to do different things at the computer...

 :o

Not giving out any more info than that, so don't try to make me spit out way more info than intended ! :p :hehe: :p

I'm a recently retired Bus Driver from Newcastle, NSW, now living in sunny Tasmania. Apart from playing Trainz and MSTS I'm a volunteer member of the Don River Railway at Devonport where I sometimes drive their diesel rail-car and act as a Guard.

Before I retired I was a member of the Royal Newcastle Aero Club, where I gained my Private Pilot Licence and joined an aerial "safari" organised by the Club circum-navigating around Australia by light aeroplanes. I later gained a Commercial Pilot Licence and started training as a Flying Instructor too but the Flying School I was attending for this training went bust with my pre-paid money so I stayed working as a Bus Driver.

So out there in the "real" world I live with my wife, 3 teenage children () and a large lurcher dog Henry. In order to pay the rent I work for a very large multinational computer manufacturer as a software architect. In fact I've worked for the same company for very nearly 25 years and have been doing commercial development of computer software for nearly 35 years!

I have a number of other interests and recently my Trainz time has been impacted by a return to model railways after a 30-odd year break. Much of that 30 years was taken up by Brass Bands which were, and to some extent still are, a passion. I played Cornet or Flugel Horn with a number of bands in the UK and have competed at the top level including playing at the National Championships finals at the Albert Hall, the British Open and the All England Masters.

To see what has been taking up my Trainz time take a look at this thread on RMweb http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17801

Cheers

My name is Mitch V-J and I am a train obsessive 15 year old... I am single, and sick of it :n: and I am in year 10 at a huge highschool in the town of Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia. I really love trains, and often I go a while without seeing them (a week is just too long).

There is no railway in Redcliffe, and its a while away to the station, either Petrie or Sandgate. Otherwise, I wouldn't do much else.

I love to travel, and I have been around the east coast of Australia, and I recently went to England and France.

I like to hang out with my mates, and that always makes for a good time. In class, we do nothing but chat and laugh, and thats probably why I am gonna fail the maths test I did today.

I often get a lot of homework and assignments, and I really dislike some of my teachers, but whatcha gonna do...

I don't work, but its my goal to get a job with Queensland Railways when I leave school in 2 years or so.

I often talk endlessly about trains, and all my friends can do is smile and nod, or raise an eyebrow. But thats just me.

I have an N-Scale Model I am working on, and I also have a Lego Train Layout ( I take up two rooms in the house ) My N-Scale is Australian Themed, and I have a limited collection, but it includes a superb PacNat 81 class.

Anyways, Thats a bit about me... I am very mysterious and secretive, os its just a bit...

haha

I am 40 currently unemployed and single due to problems in the last job field I worked in and family issues taking priority.

After High School, I spent a year in college not knowing what to do with it so I left. I got employment with a commodities exchange (not with a brokerage house but the exchange itself) and spent several years there working first on the trading floor then in a data room. Learned a lot there, it is a tough environment where people can lose fortunes and jobs, saw one guy in a couple of hours of busy trading lost $2 million and his job the next day. After figuring out that I wouldn't do much else without making some changes, I left and joined the US Army at age 27, yes older than some join military service. Spent time working hard at physical requirements (never had what is known as an average build) but did very well in other areas, got educated on a lot of things and traveled a bit stateside too plus served on a few joint exercises where I met soldiers from other countries. Then I left military service because it gave too little non-working time and it got harder to meet physical training standards and went to work for a couple of telecommunications jobs over a few years since it was related to the military job I did, but the telecom field was going downhill similar to the dot com failure. So until I figure out what job field to get into next, I currently am not working.

Non-work activities have included several forms of rock/metal music though lately I have some increasing interest in jazz and orchestra soundtracks; played role-playing games for a few years; used to be heavily into computer tech but lost track of some advances; read mostly science fiction, fantasy and sometimes self-education books usually on computer programs; did model building and painting metal minatures for a bit; used to play a lot of computer games though between lack of funds and choosing games with long-term involvement I use fewer now, limited to Neverwinter Nights, Starfleet Command Orion Pirates, Star Wars Empire at War, Knights of the Old Republic and Tomb Raider; I used to subscribe to some train/model magazines years ago but things change, now I only get issues with items I have interest in and some books. Haven't had room for a layout since I was a kid so I like Trainz since it lets me simulate one until the day comes that I can build a model layout, meanwhile I can take some of the time without one to learn things about railroading at a leisurely pace. I get regular emails from a couple of train related sites and military ones, the latter to keep up with some issues I have interest in. I also spend at least once a week looking at some type of news story even if the subject doesn't interest me just to stay aware of what goes on.

I am typically described as a non-typical New Yorker because I am not considered by people that met me to have typical New York City qualities (being loud and trying to show off), I even got dropped when I got to my military unit because the other soldiers I met thought I was lying about being from NYC due to lack of "usual" NYC resident behaviors.

Also survived some dangerous situations such as encountering a poisonous snake in Texas, brown recluse spider in South Carolina, had someone stick a live gun in my face because they thought "it looked cool," was 1 block away from a tornado touchdown, was 1 block away from the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center and 13 blocks from the 2001 incident then had to go back the next night.
