Well since I know we all have favorites when it comes to paint schemes, I figured I'd see who else likes what road. Don't be hesitant about posting, there's always something to be learned. I think I'll kick this thread of with the BN C30-7 & RRMods' CN, BN Tiger Stripe, and CNW SD60. Who else has a favorite(s) loco & color scheme?

KCS Southern Belle on an ES44 would have to be my favorite, ATSF Warbonnet -9 following very close behind. Kind of like the CP Pacman scheme too, whatever it's on.

Try the jointed rail free download of the csx 2pk zip file find a program called jzip and drag the loco file to there and then update it in content manager its a awesome locomotive and sounds are quite the realistic ones indeed!

I LOVE SP Bloody Noise
And The SP GE 44 Ton Paint Scheme
like this

Rock Island with the ROCK ISLAND on the side, w/ a yellow nose! (And the late 1970's Blue & White The Rock paint!)
UP 'Lightning Stripe' Paint scheme
Alaska Railroad 1970's Govt. paint.
Conrail 'Can Opener'
CSX Stealth.
NW with NW on the long hood.
Ahh, there are so many! :D

The ATSF began modifying the black paint scheme used for diesel switchers and road switchers with diagonal silver stripes (the “zebra” paint scheme) shortly after WWII. This remained the system standard until late 1959 when the second order of SD24s was delivered in the first blue and yellow (“pinstripe” or “bookend”) scheme. Locomotives were normally repainted only when they were shopped for major overhauls or repairs so some retained their stripes into the mid-60s. AFAIK there are only two examples of this scheme (a GE 44-tonner and a GP7) available for Trainz and unfortunately neither correctly depicts the fact that the stripes pointed up on the front of the locomotive and down on the rear.

Somehow I knew there would be an NS unit here. Sorry about the mispelled word in the thread title. I'd thought I'd hit the key for it but apparently I didn't hit it hard enough. I do know RRMods has a few Black Widow SP and SSW engines in their payware section. I for one like that maroon & gray CP scheme. Got a photo from www.railpictures.net of a CP GP9, #8839, up at Revelstoke, BC, Canada. Of course the BN Cascade and ATSF Warbonnet are there as well.

god that would be cool to do on an SD9
but damn the stripes would kill me

The stripes are no joke but the real problem I've found (assuming you're trying to reskin an existing mesh) is that there is usually a texture that is mapped to both the front and the back or to both sides (the sides have to be mirror images of each other).

BR Deltic Prototype. Can't beat it.

D&H works well on anything...

...So does PRR Black/Green!
Not a fan of NS though. Too bland, like Penn Central. Top marks for their heritage schemes though!
Chessie is also good, but everything CSX has done is horrible...

Well I mentioned NS only bc of the heritage series they brought out:hehe:. And honestly, i think the Southern Crescent scheme looked way better than the Tuxedo scheme. Whoever mentioned the Katy unit, give that man a medal or something. Aside from the WP & Mopac units she's the best-looking one there. I like all of the NS & UP heritage units but the ones that stand out are the WP, Mopac, & Katy for UP; the Erie, Wabash, DLW, PRR, LV, and the Sothern Crescent take the favorite for the NS heritage units in my opinion.
