You can build as low as 3000m, or as high as 3000m

I would imagine a 2% grade from -3000m all the way up to +3000m would be hunderds of miles of trackage

6000m/720m = 833%

6000m/0.02 = 300,000m = 300km = 186.4mi = 417 baseboards

I'm not out and about on Railways often, but I'm guessing(No I'm not being stupid replying to myself btw) that actual railways could possibly be higher than 300m, but not higher than the clouds, because thats just stupid/

Ay 9842 feet (3000m) a RR would be kinda high, like in the Andes mountains ... and at -3000m it would require draining the Marianas Trench
