What's going on?

:confused:I have created a route with 2 industries. A forestry and a lumber mill. I have used the track type of Auran Track TS2009 Oak for the tracks. It worked find for a couple of days. Yesterday when I went to drive the route one of the tracks at the lumber mill had turned into track type 1track wood. It caused my train to derail when entering it. What could be causing this? Is there a way to link 2 different track types together so they are workable? I posted this subject on the Surveyors, Operators, and Engineers forum and have had 35 views and 0 replies. I guess this is a hard one. Maybe I could look on the DLS for a different lumber mill. I sure would appreciate any help on this so I can make my route useable again. Thanks....

Although the latest version I have is 2006, I think you may have disconnected the rails on accident while doing something else. Either that, or the turn into the industry is too tight and the trains derail.

I will make an attempt to help. Tracks of different types should work as long as the track gauge is the same. From my experience with TRS2006, I have found that derailments at interactive industries is caused by an open joint, a difference in track elevation or misalignment. It is usually not visible unless you zoom in on the offending joint with surveyor. Deleting and relaying the track between the last yellow circle and the fixed in place industry track and saving the change should solve the derailment problem.

Good Luck, tomurban

Yeah, the two tracks are not in alignment. It appears the rails overlap each other. Also there looks to be a space between the rail sections. I guess I need help on how to set the height etc. at the the spline points. I have clicked on the smooth spline points button, but nothing appears to happen. Should all rail types connect together? I just don't know how the rail type changed overnight as it did. Thanks for the information...

This may be to do with the industry, I think sometime ago it was mentioned how industries and platform kept breaking at the rail join. The answer was to rotate the industry by the smallest amount and it would then be ok. It matters not which track you use as what you see is a mesh and some meshes dont quite join together but the train will still run fine as long as the spline points join ok. Use the get height tool in the track advance section and get height of the industry spline point and then apply it to the track end you are going to join it to, this will then stay connected if any movement in the grond may occur.

:D Yes the industry track spline was a height of 0.10 and the linking track was -0.10. I applied the 0.10 to the linking track and now my train runs over it OK. Where they join doesn't look all that good as it looks like there is a space under there when you are coming up to it. Oh well it works now, thanks for all your good information....Cheers....

You could try putting an extra spline point just before the Industry because if the bend is long and too severe, that also could cause it to brake.

You can raise the ground beneath the track to fill in the gap. As long as you dont raise the ground under the pivot point of the industry.
