I was about to post about that...... looks like you beat me to the punch....(Biggest monk fan ever) an episode of mythbusters.

ticket to tomahawk, rio grande southern, night passage, butch cassady and the sundance kid, how the west was won i think.

Plains, Trains, Automobiles! One of my all time favorites! I just love the "YOUR GOING THE WRONG WAY" scene so much :D :D :D .
The trains were a gp7 with a passenger consist and the Chicago El.

In the Peticott Junction spinoff Green Acres, the Hooterville Cannonball can be seen in several episodes. Although in one episode, the engine's number plate is changed to 8 instead of the usual 3.

And another good movie. It's called, "587: The Great Train Robbery.

Some Australian made films with Aussie (particularly Western Australian) trains in them:

Gallipoli Features a South Australian Railways steam loco supposedly emulating a WAGR G class at Perth station, desptie the fact it looks nothing like a WAGR engine.

Rabbit-Proof Fence. Uses footage of famous NSWR streamliner 3801 from 80's docu-film A Steam Train Passes, even though the big Pacific never ran in WA until the 1970s.

Last Train to Freo. Recent lWestern Australian-produced and set film that is entirelly set on a late evening Transperth A set EMU, on a run from Midland to Fremantle. Despite the very claustrophobic setting, the railcar's interior quite accurately portrays the interior of an A set, as well as the station locations along the Midland to Fremantle railway, although the train only seems to consist of one car (the A sets are actually two-car sets), with only one set of doors in leiu of the actual two, and a carriage rear that ends in a blank wall rather than double doors giving access to the next carriage. Still, it's a good film nonetheless.

Okay, I'll stop rivet counting now. :p

Trains have been featured in several horrifying British PIFs (Apaches, The Finishing Line, Robbie, etc.)

The older Brits on here will know what I mean :D

Von Ryan's Express. A WWII prison escape film. Nobody jumps a motorcycle over the fence, but a good movie anyway.

 Claude

being to tired to read all the tread, here are a couple I know of;

From Russia With Love
Octopussy
On Her Majesties Secret Service
Goldeneye
Die Another Day (subway car with DB9 vanish on it)
Casino Royale
and I think there is another 007 but it's not coming to mind right now
Crosby Show had a station in it
Law & Order has probably had a scene with a NYCTA train in it
the RR specials on PBS and the Travel Channel
Mythbusters has probably done one
Build It Bigger
A Star Trek episode had a monorail like vehicle in a wide shot once
Cash Cab has gone past some NYCTA stuff
and many more

EDIT: I think that's the ED, Edd, and Eddy episode where they have to get to the Candy Store on Free Jawbreakers Day.

In last night's episode of "Monk", there's a brief shot of a Metrolink train (The show's set in San Francisco but filmed in Los Angeles).
Which episode it that?
Also in Monk, the Season finale for this year (Season 6?) has scenes shot in a train station.
There's an old movie in B/W, "The Train", about sabotaging a Nazi train.
Cheaper by the Dozen.
Home Alone 1.
On the Lot (had to shoot scenes at a UP(?) yard).
Happy Feet (there's and old boiler and tracks in the abandoned village).
Men in Black II.
Ocean's 12.
Robots (or were those just big flying irons?).
Cars.
Toy Story (there's a toy train breifly in the shot where all the toys hide after Andy opens all the presents).
The Incredibles.
The Prestige.
Big Boy--oh, wait. That was just a bunch of hot air.

No, I've seen a ton E,E & E episodes and I don't think that was it. Two with model trains and one with a real train. Forget names.

Just saw a new simpsons with a train driving on the road
