Electrics are the way of the future

The best way for the future... No pollution...

The locos themselves might cause no pollution but where do you get the electricity from? I think that this quote bellow is what i'd choose too.

The best traction has got to be 750v DC 3rd rail with shoes strapped to the bogies. ;-)

EDIT: Oh, hang on, I'll change that statement, I'd got a few new ones to add
HYDRODRIVE
and
FLYWHEEL DRIVE

Both make no noise, no smell and with Hydrodrive (I think that is its name), the only waste product is..... pure water! Who would want any more?

I chose electrics all the same.

Favourite Locomotive

STEAM.The thrill of working on a steam locomotive as Driver or Fireman is something that stays with you forever.The smell of the smoke,superheated oil and the hiss of the steam is magic. I worked on the LMS between Leeds and Glasgow, and Leeds and London from1940 until the Parafin Cans[ Diesels to the uninitiated} were introduced.in the 1960s and enjoyed every minute of it. As for diesels /electrics.how one can get excited by sitting in a cab, pulling a lever to make it go and pushing a lever to make it stop, is beyond my comprehension

I guess that's electric, and I certainly agree. I like anything with a bit of style, be it steam diesal or electric, but trams are definately works of art. Look out for them on my upcoming layout.
