What is up with this??

Yesterday I purchased 2010 EE. When I got my email from you with the links, I started downloading. After several tries, I was able to download the five files. I placed them all in the same desktop folder. After installing, I started 2010 EE and got a message saying it was scanning asset files. Nothing happened for nearly an hour. So after that, I cancelled that and double clicked on the 2010 EE desktop icon and nothing happened. I then decided due to the late hour I would work on the problem today. Well, today, I attempted to uninstall 2010 EE with the intent of again, downloading the files and trying a clean install. Problem is, I can NOT uninstall it. I get the error message that my unins000.dat file is CORRUPT and can not uninstall. On a whim, I tried to start Trainz2009 (I bought disk version) and IT WOULD NOT load. I attempted to uninstall it and I got the SAME uninstall error message. I submitted a ticket last night (VVV-842650) and followed up with the additional problem today but since I have not gotten a reply to this apparently MAJOR problem I thought it best to bring the problem to the forum.

Here is my system info:
AMD 5600+ dual core
4 gb ram
Win 7 Professional 64 bit
GeForce nVidia 9600 GT 1gb video card (with latest drivers)

One more thing, not sure what this means but looking in my Auran program file folder, both 2009 and 2010 are in the 2009 sub folder. There is no seperate Trainz 2010 folder.

My Guess

That canceling the load corrupted your database and overall install. It took about 20 minutes to do that update on my machines, even the hefty machine with 8 cores. Your load may have crashed or hung which is why I guess you cancelled it.

My take would be to reinstall 2010 and or 2009 and see what happens. I'd just install over the current install if you can. have no idea if that will work!

I "thought" an hour was enough time.

As I stated I can not uninstall either 2009 or 2010. It says my ins000.dat file is corrupted and can not uninstall.

Do you think if I just reinstall 2010 EE and let it do it's thing it will clear up the problems?

Issue

If you backup the db file you can try that, you might want to see if trains made a backup of that file before the install and copy it back and try running the program again and see if it retrys the process again.

Last thing, make sure you make a copy of the db file or files before doing anything so you can put it all back if needed

Same problrm here

Seems the installer gives me corrupt files and I have downloaded all 5 files at lest 3 times with the same result. Yes Windows 7, 64-bit.
