What is Native mode

Just reading some threads here trying to get re-educated and my brain updated to Trainz 2010.

I see talk about stuff working or not working in NATIVE MODE. What is Native mode and what other Modes are there?

Thanks in advance

Native mode is the mode 2010 is intended to operate in. It utilizes assets that have been corrected to the current standard. Compatibility mode will allow you to use assets that have not been updated.

Native mode or compatibility mode. Trainz 2010 is the last version to have compatibility mode.
Basically, compatibility mode will allow you to use assets from older versions of Trainz.

Thanks guys. I got it. Why doesn't Auran just include ALL THE LATEST ASSETS with the new Trainz release they make almost every year?

Just think of all the problems that would solve albiet at the expense of no backward compatabilty. So what, they did that with 2012.

There are assets being added almost daily. Not to mention how many discs it would take to hold it all.
TRS10 is the last version to have compatibility mode. From TRS12 on, you must have the correct asset version or update the asset(s) to meet standards.

Native mode puts wore work down to the GPU, compatibility mode uses the cpu more, Trainz normally bottlenecks on the cpu so with native mode you generally get high frames per second.

Cheerio John

As usual, the nerds have it all wrong.

Native mode is when you play Trainz with only your underpants on (or less). Compatibility mode is when you close the blinds so that your neighbours can't see you in your underpants.
