Get over it
Sorry if this is a obvious question but I want to make sure before I push the button. If you merge two routes do the two merged routes remain as two individuals and you rename the merged routes? I'm thinking of merging the King Mountain and Western Pacific but I really don't want to lose them as individual routes. Thanks.

I dont know the answer. But if you clone the routes and re-name them then merge the 2 cloned routes you will still have the originals.

When merging 2 routes they will still stay individual providing you rename your new route different from either of the 2. Check for the height difference between the 2 routes, sometimes its necessary to build a bridge to gain the height from one baseboard to another.

Thanks for the quick replys guys. Fran1, obvious solution. Didn't think of that, something about not seeing the forest because of the trees.

I've tested this, and you don't need to clone the routes, because merging is done in memory, and the saved routes on the hard drive are unchanged. Unless, that is, you forget to change the name of the merged route when you save it, in which case you'll overwrite the first route. So if you load route A, and merge in route B, and forget to change the name, when you save A, A will now be the merged route.
