I've been using trainz for a little less than a year and building routes, I've stood back and watched everyone for a while then decided to start posting. from what i gather is there are way more people that don't do anything but reap the benefits of other creators work and do not do anything to contribute to the community its self, I.E. they don't build route, locos, or any asset to that manner, there is also to many people that just bug the hell out of people trying to get free stuff and the worst of all the scum known as payware traders and one is to many! you wouldn't believe the number people that have never posted on the forums that have messaged me to ask for the K4 and A5 and l1 for free
more people need to stop depending on the payware and freeware creators to give them things to enjoy for them selves and start learning how to make their own, then this community would flourish!
As for the jointed rail being blamed for hacking Andy's site I don't believe that one bit, they are way to busy to ever do that, and i think they have way more people trying to hack them then vise versa.

I am new on this site and hobby, and have been following some of these discussions, and feel like chipping in my 2 cents. First of all, if you have a website that is being hacked regularly, that is beyond strange. I can't picture some hacker spending hours hacking a website that makes free stuff for a railroad simulator. Add to that, someone making their living selling payware, hacking the site of someone else because they make free content has to be the silliest story I have ever heard, and to anyone that thinks about it for a second, it just sounds like total BS.

Now as far as creating stuff for Trainz, I can't draw a straight line with 2 rulers, and don't have the artistic ability or the patience to create anything except maybe laying down a piece of track from point A to Point B. I have downloaded some freeware routes in the last week or two, and I am amazed at the quality of quality of these routes and the time an patience that it must have taken to put them together. I have also bought alot of payware in the last few months, and am equally in awe of how well that stuff works and looks. I think that there are many of us in this forum, who like me, leave the creating to someone else, not be cause we are lazy or stupid, but because we don't have the talent , time or patience to create anything that we would even want to put on the DLS. And if I see something in payware that I like, I buy it without hesitation ( as long as I know it works in TS12)

As far as people trying to get payware for free, well it takes all kinds.. I would just tell them to buzz off.

Well I'll add my 5 cents worth and probably get the thread closed but some things just needs to said here.

Isn't Trainz gonna be sadder place without Derrmey and his wonderful content if he has decided to remove is site and his knowlege. Its going to lessen the Trainz experiance for everyone who uses or would be users of his content.

I can't blame the guy for doing so after an attack like he suffered the other day, Unfortunatly the JR rail guys can be bully boys from time to time, I myself have suffered a gang attack from these guys and its not pleasant. The trouble is they have some very knowlegable and talented guys working for them and tend to be the heavy weights of the forum, but say one word against them and look out. I think they need a lesson or two in public relations and learn to keep there mouths shut and just take somethings on the chin. At the moment they come accross as bully boys. Imagine what it would be like if Auran reacted in this way to ever criticism of Trainz this place would be really ugly.

I think the JR boys have scored an own coal here and lessen the value of the Trainz experiance with the loss of Checkrail
