What exactly is HUD?

Is HUD the "Track Profile" or is it the lines that say "Approaching Signal", etc. or is it both?
How exactly do you turn off HUD?

Thanks,
Al

HUD is all information overlay that you have in your screen, it even includes the Windows of sessions description.
To toggle the HUD you should press the key F5 on your keyboard.
;)

HUD is an acronym for 'Head-Up-Display', commonly found on fighter jets and now in other vehicle cockpits/ cabins.
Useful in keeping your head up and looking out for trouble and not down at your instrument panel.
Gives you greater situational awareness as well as the information you need to keep your machine 'flying'.

Thank you PC_Ace, but like I asked Stavka5, how do you do anything with HUD turned off?

but the big problem here is that without hud you loose all seessions information, briefings etc. I can live without controls and speeddometer, because i use my raildriver, but the sessions info are realy important. Also about the track profile its some kind of obligatory because real engine drivers have in paper or in a multi function display the track info with the kilometers along the route with speed limits and stations. In trainz we not have that kind of papers and what is more close to give the same kind of info is the hud with track profile. So the hud is a real important here to have a somekind of real operations use.
