What else is left to make?

I say there are many iconic businesses that have not been made yet for Trainz. Walgreens, Target, Subway, etc...

I know this may sound silly, but, to get around this trademark copyright malarkey, I know that someone created a gas station with the logo name altered to BB, although, we all could see it was green and yellow similar to the BP brand. Why don't you make Burger King, Walmarts, Subway, etc, but alter the letters so it doesn't cause any infringement, can that be done ??

Then you could do lots of retail outlets Dinorius_Redundicus, we could have Burglar King ( well, they do steal your money ), Blubway, Stalmarts, etc, etc.....:hehe:

Mainline UK stations

Yeah, I know, what a project! But there are very few of the very famous ones for us to use. Paddington, Kings X, Euston, Marylebone, Waterloo (we had a water loo in our garden!), York etc, there's a long list...

But I suppose this is just wishful thinking, especially for 04....

Bless you what what you have made,

Angela

Mainly due to trademark infringement..(why they haven't been made)

Actually there's a lot of real businesses on the DLS, complete with real world logos. As far as I know no-one has kicked up a fuss yet...

I'd say go with the real logos, just be aware there's a possibility you might be asked to change it or withdraw the item in the future.

Yeah, I tend to agree with Paul, when served with a cease and desist letter, then you can whip "Booger King" out; that would serve 'em right!

I actually did run into a problem with logos when I first made some explosives mixing trucks. I made the "mistake" of mentioning them to some Marketing people at work. The question went all the way to our head office lawyers who came back with a stern warning to remove the logos. Since the trucks were already on the DLS, the only thing I could do was make sanitised versions to obsolete them. In retrospect, I think if I hadn't been so honest, I could have left the originals on the DLS for years and no killjoy lawyer would have ever known. Nobody in the real world has ever heard of Trainz, let alone the DLS.

I was hoping to identify some gap that's never been filled (but also within my gmax capabilities). Recently for example I realised that nobody had made any bendy industrial-grade hoses, so I made some. I was going to make a bunch of typical S. E. Asian buildings but Dave Drake has well and truly flooded the market with his Darjeeling stuff, so that's kind of off the agendum for now. I'm not sure that fast food outlets and supermarkets constitute a gap. Don't we already have lots of examples on the DLS? Several versions of McDonalds and a Tim Hortons come quickly to mind...

Again maybe out of you capabilities but they are wonderfull at that. It has been brought up time and time again that we need a "scenery engine" One that has been in a wreck or something of the sort. As far as I was told it is all a matter of converting files, which being the noob I am, have no Idea how to do:confused:

Nevertheless, as for the business, well, I like Paul's Ideas. If someone has a problem with that then call up the said Business, Wal-mart, Tim Hortons, Tops, ect and ask to make them. I wouldn't think they'd mind seeing as how it's a game! Althought you never know naymore. You probabaly could get away with just throwin them on the DLS but you never know.

What about doing some bigger buildings of something that we only have one of at present on the DLS, such as the vet's clinic or the dentists' surgery, a library perhaps, and if we could have a couple in different sizes that would help for those that do town/country layouts and big city routes.....Just an idea.....

What about a Chiropodist's practice, there isn't one of those on the DLS.....

Room for plenty more!

Hi Dinorius. Please don't let my Indian stuff dissuade you from building S.E. Asian content. We are talking about an area of the world with about 2/3 of the worlds population. Certainly there is enough diversity between India, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and Malaysia to support just a little more content! Go for it!:D

So many

How about Blackpool Central complete with tower ?
During steam days it was big station. :D

Yes, a good idea. There are so many umade classic British stations, like Crewe, Plymouth, Charing Cross, Derby to name a few.
I have downloaded several European large stations but there are hardly any British.
A kind sould made Reading for me when I did the Paddington-Reading section of my WCL series, and thank you for doing that, Chris.

Yeah, I made a KMart department store, Woolworth and Coles supermarkets, a BP gas station, a KFC chicken outlet and a Pizza Hut, a Bridgestone tyre place (for you Yanks, a "tire place") and some others with the logos prominently displayed on the models I made. Over the last 3 years I never ever had any complaints from anyone re using their logo.

I have a feeling that some/most of these firms might even welcome the use of their trade marks, after all it is good advertisment for them with a big TRS user base looking at them. And on top of it, they do not even have to pay for spruiking/displaying their brands.

That is what I would point out and reply to, in case I ever would get a "cease using it" demand.

My opinion :)
