What do these buttons mean?

They are filters for the different types of colour-coded messages in the pane below; grey for comments, yellow for warnings, red for errors, green for completed steps.
By default they are all enabled. Clicking on one or more buttons will hide / unhide that category. So, for example, if you only want to examine error messages, you click on the grey, yellow and green buttons to hide those message types.

Thank you for information on Buttons for Click Unclick , in all this time, I never realized or knew you do hide ability.
