Well stick a fork in me... I guess no more Trainz for me!

That divx is simply a compression tool used to compress movies. So since the splash screen in 04 with the gnomes, or what ever they are, bowing down to Auran at the start is a movie, trainz needs the divx thingy on your comp. too run the movie, whether you intend to disable it later or not.

The trouble with Divx is that it tries to take over all video operations, including ones it is totally incapable of handling. I have video files that are no longer playable since installing Divx ( they played fine with the default Microsoft (or whatever it is) codecs). It is maybe possible that installing different codecs might help these sort of problems, but I have been warned off this as I was told that too many codecs can cause more problems, so it isn't just as simple as installing every codec you can find (that would be too easy). If anyone wants to play with this you can try http://www.free-codecs.com/index.htm. And the best of luck !
