Planes or Trains?

I harnessed six dingo's to a sled. It didn't work. I then put wheels on it and it worked. That's the industrial revolution for you. What has that got to do with the OP's thread? nothing.

Planes because on one regional turboprop flight, (30? seats or so), I was sitting next to the aisle. We hit turbulence and with the help of positive G's the lovely hostie ended up in my lap. Lucky it was before hot drinks:confused:
She blushed, I smiled whilst grasping her hips & waist firmly so she would be safe ^^ & rode out the remaining bumps & erm... humps.
I casually looked at the other passengers, who were nearly dying of laughter, smirked and said to her, "Oh yes please... thank you!":udrool:
With a wry smile, the slight raise of an eyebrow and an inconspicuos wiggle, she righted herself and got back to her duties checking on passengers.
Upon disembarking I commented to her on the personal touch and noted my keenness to fly again.
A thoroughly unexpected event and just absolutely hilarious.
If it were a train I would have had to remain seated for a further station or two..

I worked on jet engines for 15 years. It will be a cold day in you-know-where before you will my backside in a plane again.

if you have to be there in a hurry, i say go by plane. but...

a few weeks ago i took a train trip from Tampa, FL to Philadelphia, PA. thats a 23 hour ride. got a room on a viewliner. the service was excellent, the food was great, i had no complaints about the trip at all. i had full breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining car, with a great menu. all of this included in the price of my roomette. there is no way i could equate the trip to being unpleasant or bad. i have heard horror stories about amtrak, but i did not experience one on this trip. i cannot stress enough how the staff made every effort to make sure the trip was enjoyable, from getting the ticket and boarding the train, to arriving and getting off the train at the final stop.

now if i were going by plane it might have taken 2:40 for the actual flight, but i would have to arrive hours early at the airport either way to check baggage and be violated at the security checkpoints and herded around like cattle. i would have received a package of peanuts on the way. if i wanted to eat or anything while i waited almost the duration of the flight to go through the checkpoints i would have to buy food available at the airport, with $8 bottles of water and $12 sandwiches not worth $2. i would get there quick, but i would have spent nearly the same amount of money on a direct flight as i did on the sleeper room on the train.

I like trains, but I also like Planes. Hmmm... Which is better? There's only one way to find out... FIIIIIIGHT!

I am confused.

The thread is titled..... Weird.

But, in post number 1, which I think should be the thread title...it says "Question of the Day "

Can anyone explain?

Thanks,

The OP has been edited before the first response. Check out the times.

I believe that if you do this, the title can also be edited at the same time. It only becomes fixed when a second post has been uploaded.

I'm guessing that the title in the main listing can only be changed by a moderator.

Well fellows, I read the original post BEFORE it was edited and while it did not contain abusive language, was fairly innocent in it's questioning nature, AND did not run counter to MOST of the COC, it definitely WOULD have been a prime example of #14:

The discussion of race, religion and politics; using expressions or language in messages that are considered foul, vulgar, hateful, bigoted, sexually harassing, racially offensive, or are in any way discriminatory. Whether the discussion or expression falls within this definition will be determined at the discretion of N3V staff and/or N3V appointed forum moderators.

I like to think that the OP reconsidered his original post before it was reported or viewed by a MOD, and had the good sense to edit it himself.

Well I'm beast like that. I had thought about leaving it because I didn't have anything offensive but I thought maybe it might be or someone would make it to be that way so I changed it.

Well never mind. Mods if you would be so kind, then please close this thread. I can see drama from a mile away and that's the last thing I need.

I was impressed that you thought better of it and did change it. Well done.;)
