well i do have an odd little question. i have 2009 wbe (in addition to 2006 which i already had) because i wanted the smaller grid because i like more intimate spaces for fills and cuttings and so on. now the thing is, it came with a whole bunch of "undecorated" rolling stock, but in splitting 2009 into wbe and the operating only oriented one, i forget what its called, there's no "paint shop" (which has its limitations anyway). now some of them look interesting too me.
i prefer to model an imaginary near future tech, with a primarily narrow gauge railway infrastructure, and primarily passenger oriented, though also providing freight service. so i love the most modern narrow gauge stuff i can find, no matter what part of the world it comes from. doing atrocious things like pulling sandy river cars with vail of festiniog, or pulling a dhr 4 wheel box car behind a sandy river number 5 railbus, or running a pair of number 5 rail busses back to back, or pulling a pair of festiniog #38 coaches, (passenger enabled) behind one, and using the tram stops for station platforms in all the narrow gauges, in 30"/260mm, freely mixing and running oebb and pbr stock togather and so on.
but back to what i was rambling on about. most of those undec's are std gauge, and a few even of those are interesting to me, but at any rate how precisely am i supposed to apply my personal sierra midland color scheme to them?
in 2006 paint shed's limitations made it less useful to me, then digging the skins names out of the config's, converting formats to something i could paint in ms paintbrush, (or gimp, or what have you), converting them back to what the were that trs could recognize, and that worked just fine, where i could find them in something i could do that with.
but in 2009 i haven't found a way of doing that. so is there a way, short of having to buy the 'opperating side' of 2009 to get its 'paint shed' (if it even has one, does it?) to do this? if not, what on earth was the point of including all that undecorated ready to reskin rolling stock IN wbe?
