Water Is A Faulty Dependency

the Tittle Says It All, But Let Me Explain Why Its Bad. Water, A Very Important Dependency In ANY Steam Engine Model, Is Now Faulty. Anybody Know A Fix To This?

It would be a great help if you gave us the <kuid> code of the water that is a faulty dependency.

<kuid:-3:10004> Water
That is a built-in asset, a commodity, that came installed with TRS19 (and later versions).

It is not showing as faulty in my installs of TRS22PE and Trainz Plus.

It has over 400 dependents (i.e. it is used by over 400 other assets), mostly route, session, industry and train assets in my install of Trainz Plus. It is used by all of my steam locos, none of which are reporting a missing or faulty dependency.

Is Content Manager showing it as faulty? Or is it just your steam locos?

Step 1: Select the faulty asset (or a faulty loco) in Content Manager, right click on the asset and select View Errors and Warnings to give a more detailed report (and sometimes this by itself will clear errors).
Step 2: If step 1 does not resolve the error, open the Developer Menu at the top of Content Manage and select Rebuild Database

I just mention it because questions like this come up a lot in Trainz Discord. It's also one of the easiest repairs to try first.

I also found it listed as a trainz-build 2.0 (TS2004) commodity, built-in and error-free in TRS19.

I decided to try modifying it to see what happens. I added a trainz-build 2.0 tag, category-keyword, category-era, category-region and allows-mixing tags, an actual thumbnail image and removed the language tags. On submitting, the only hard fault was one referring to "no texture.txt file found" (because its icon image was still in the form of a texture file). Images2TGA decompressed that to the requisite TGA plus texture.txt file and re-submitting the asset produced no errors.

So I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with the built-in water. If it has been modified, then an error due to the texture file is likely, but it should be fixable either with Images2TGA or reverting to original.
