warning about returned mail

hi all

my trainz email is being bombarded by returned mail with attachments and also mailer deamon .
all have attachment s that are being flagged by my anti virus as harmful

all are from russia with .ru

do not open them for your own computers safety

i think it is pretty bad when they have to do this

i get an average of 66 every morning and then more through the day

i have no idea how to stop this either

i thought a warning to my fellow trainzers would be best

If your "Trainz Email" (not exactly sure what you mean) maybe also report this to Auran via the HelpDesk, with as many details as possible.

I think a spammer has been using your email address and you're getting all the failed messages sent back to you. It's exceedingly annoying but it should cease after a while. You might want to contact your ISP but most ISP's don't want to know because (AFAIK) they can't do anything about it. It's nothing to do with Auran.

Bob Rankin explains it here but offers no solutions.

If possible, change your e-mail address, and delete the old one.
Do not use your current e-mail as a "catch-all", or you will still get messages sent to the old one.
I have been using several e-mails for years, changing the ones I give to merchants periodically, and immediately if I start getting spammed.
My ISP has a very good anti-spam program, so I don't receive much anymore.
