Want to work for a railroad

October Trains 2008 advertises a cover story about this, could be good reading for anyone in the USA thinking about it.

From what I can see, it's probably better to play railroad and work somewhere else.

Euphod is mighty right. In my college days I had this idea of how great it would be to work for the Western Pacific to help with tuition and start a career there. That idea was discarded when I spoke to the yardmaster in the town where I lived and he explained how the extra board worked!
