Want to use Faulty items in TS12

I want to know is there a way to use "Faulty" items or make them visible in TS12? Why I ask is because they're some errors that I knew nothing about in TS2009 then when I move those items over to TS12 they become faulty, they're some that are built-in and I can't even fix some of them.

Yes. Fix them. Or have a look to see if there are TS12 versions on the DLS.

That may seem smarta$$ed but it really is the answer.

How about an answer that might be helpful? I've always thought that's actually the purpose of a forum, isn't it? I know I'm very thankful to the kind people who take the time to steer me in the right direction when the "Google It!" and "Figure it out yourself!" replies appear. Learning to find answers yourself is good, but everyone can use some help to get started, especially if "Google It!" and forum search haven't been successful. This thread has some good info for a start: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?90493-How-do-I-fix-this-faulty-item

David,

What kinds of problems?

Post a couple of them up here and perhaps we can help. Most of them are pretty easy fixes once you get the hang of them.

Here's a quick list of common errors in TS12 when importing stuff from TS2009 and TS12 pre SP1:

mode 1 or mode 0 ---- should be mode "time of day"

Missing thumbnail. Create a thumbnail and use the new thumbnail container setup.

thumbnails
{
0
{
image "thumbnail.jpg"
width 240
height 180
}
}

Substitute 'thumbnail' with your own image. Copy this into the config.txt file after opening the asset in Explorer through Content Manager.

Other errors are the usual textures not sized, etc. Sometimes you need to use (recommend) PEV Tools. AssetX can be used to create a thumbnail and container if you want.

The Erecting Hall has tut's for fixing locos. IE: VMD GP9
I have trouble understanding other tutorials.
After following his step by step instructions
put me well on the way to fixing any asset.

AssetX and PEV's tools will be of great help
for batch and single fixes.
