Visibility From The Cab When Switching

Hey everyone,

Switching is epic fun, especially when you're working from the cab. It's realistic, but don't you hate it when you can't see anything for a pesky boxcar or a hopper that's in front of the cab. I end up on the floor, leaning over trying to see past the car to see if the last vehicle in my train has passed a point...:hehe:

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, is there any way to be able to, well, lean out the window of my locomotive so I can see my work?
If I require to attach another camera to the locomotive, how do I manage that? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mitch

P.S. Don't be smart and say 'use external view', because I HAVE realised that, but I'd much prefer to work from the cab. It's more realistic.:p

In trainz options add this line.
-freeintcam
You will be able to go out of the cab using the arrows, L+R.

Looks out window sees nothing but the engine. Tells fat man to put his body out the window to see if there train has cleared the lever, well fat man goes out the window just about and then gets blowed away by a gust a wind. In the end he said I just wanted to get rid of the fat guy, I have mirrors to see behind me:hehe: .

So fat man gets in has car and tell the driver of the engine you have a flat wheel:hehe: . the engineer new on the job stops the train and checks it, only to found out the fat guy got in the engine and is pulling away saying thats what you get for thinking fat guys are stupid:wave: . engineer sits and cries:'(

I too prefer to work from the cab alone... however, lets be honest here, in reality you'd have someone on the ground and walkie-talkies, seeing out of the cab is only part of the 'whole picture'. You'd also have much better ability to gauge distances in real life than you can accomplish in a simulation.

It would be neat if there was a version of Multiplayer whereby you and another Trainzer were acting as Engineer and Conductor. The whole mode would be like a FPS (First Person Shooter) game... you'd actually WALK up and down the steps, open the door to the loco, press the "use" button to sit in the chair, or uncouple a car, etc. etc. You could communicate with each other with in game "Walkie-Talkies" etc. etc.... I know folks---I'm dreamin' again! LOL!

Still----it would be cool eh?

Leaning out the window is usually referred to as a "head-out view", many cabviews already have it built in;

cameralist
{
camera0 -1.163,0.3,1.3,0,0
camera1 -1.63,0.3,1.3,0,0
camera2 1.163,0.3,1.3,0,0
camera3 1.632,0.3,1.3,0,0
}

To move from the default incab camera position and cycle through the other ones, use the bracket keys [ and ]

there are even no collisions of rolling stock, so to insert this in JetEngine, auran should spend a LOT of money. I think it's more appropriate for you to buy World of Subway part 3 and have an experience of walking there. It can be boring to walk along 1 km - long train.
