Video Problem

I have the nVidia 8800GT/512. For the past two days when I'm loading a route it gets to a certain point and the screen blicks and then freezes. I get the fatal error message about not able to load full dianogostics. Out of curiosity I looked in my trainz options and found this line: -DefaultAutoMip=none. What the heck is that and do I need it?

Now about my card. Any ideas? I'm thinking a bad item on the route somewhere. I've updated the drivers and the card is working properly.

Run Trainzdiag.exe In TRS2006 it is located in the BIN folder. I cannot speak for the other versions. Any RED check marks should point you toward the problem area.

Thanks for replying. I just ran trainzdiag and everything is green. I just disabled everything that I downloaded for the past week and I'll play the game and see if the problem pops up. I would still like to know what that line is in my Trainz Options. I didn't put it there.

It took me two days but I think I found the problem and what a surprise. I had placed Ben Dorsey's Rock Island Freight House on my route with some of those new trucks by Yukkon (SP) in a heavy industrial area and I think the combination was too much to load for my card. Never had any problems with any of Ben's items. Deleted the freight house and I'm back running. Maybe this will help someone else with a problem like this.

Glad to hear that you found the problem. Do you have ntune installed? If so check the VC operating temp. It may be over heating. Is your cooling fan working? I am running philskene's URBAN INDUSTRIAL 5a with a smaller video card and 256mb with no problems. I don't think that trainz options line hurts anything.

Hi southn,

That line: -DefaultAutoMip=none is one of the default lines in TrainzOptions.txt so is the line -Jet=Bin do not change them.
