Valley Railroad(Essex Steam Train)

My favorite on the line is Aberdeen & Rockfish #40.

I think I may make her one of these days, if I don't have this surgery anytime soon.

Can't wait for the route.

Rock ON!

I like 40 as well, except she is known as Ms. Piggy on the Valley since she eats coal and pressure like crazy(lack of a super heater because she was originally oil fired when she came to the valley) compared to 97. I have yet to see how well 3025 performs as it hasn't had nearly enough time running to create a baseline of coal consumption.

Yes folks it's winter time now!

The 3025 "stand in " and its 5 car train sits in the hole waiting for engine 40 to pass with her 9 car train(note that is all the rolling stock on the railroad out at once, minus the open car lmao, 30,000 people ride the north pole express and santa specials each season this year for the 6th year in a row all trains are sold out, 3 years ago they added the second train to accommodate more people.)

I have no idea why not. I don't know if you're implying any infractions, but I have a clean record over there. I only got an infraction because I miss-measured my signature picture here and have since gotten rid of it. I just get a blank page now. And I don't know why.

No that would not cause any problems like that. Have you tried using a different internet browser?

Oh ok. Sorry for the accusation. I'll try that now. By the way, great looking route! I never got to visit it though. Looks like a Strasburg type tourist route right?

No problem hard to tell things from an outside perspective. It is like Strasburg, only in my opinion has a a much better scenic view and a better location overall. Only thing that it does not do that Strasburg does is revenue freight.

The Valley has the newest steam locomotive rebuild in the U.S. as well as the 1 of 2 of the newest steam locomotives in the U.S. overall. 3025(if you haven't read far enough back in the thread) was built in 1989 in China. Then shipped to the U.S. along with her sister(who coincidentally the Valley Railroad also owned for a short while) This locomotive was sold at auction by Knox and Kane after a roundhouse fire destroyed it, where the Valley acquired it. We quickly noticed some similarity in the SY class and the New Haven J1 class. So we worked on it and restored it, then made a New haven style cab that the J1s had, but built around the specs of the SY class. We also acquired a New haven whistle and 2 New Haven headlights from the J1 class locomotives, which have all been scrapped. The only things that don't really match to the real J1 class is the tenders bunker configuration, and the bogies as well as the driving wheels on the locomotive.

Wow. I really got to get up there. I really need to do a slam of the Northeast scenic lines.
