utc/trs04/trs06/tc etc flags

Dermmy

Too many projects...
I know this is an old chestnut, but could I please respectfully implore the powers-that-be to reinstate some means of identifying the version of Trainz being used by folks posting help requests?

Once again I just refrained from answering a simple query because the answer involved very different procedures if the user was an 04ite or an 06er.

Maybe I am just too lazy, but honestly - it really would help to know....

?Maybe they could paste it from their Planet Auran profile:) ,the tickets above are mine.

If I recall correctly, Lance said that they were working on bringing the Planet Auran features back into the forums.

Of course, that was shortly after the opening of the new forums, about six months ago now....

Erm, pasting them into a users signature won't help much... It will show that you might have these versions, but any old user can past these into their signature and we wouldn't know if they have that version or not... Eg. I can past in a TRS06 ticket, even if I don't have TRS06... Only Auran can tell if you actually own that version of TRS or not at the moment...

I posted an idea similar to this in the suggestions boxcar (which oddly enough, has not seem to gone through: maybe they deleted that thread since this one existed instead). Just like Dermmy, I wanted to help a user but didn't know what version they were running. Let's hope that the admins can do something about this in the near future! :D

In the meantime, how did you guys post those flags as signatures? Was it very difficult to do or just annoying?

It's quite easy really.
Go to the 'User CP' section in the forum, select 'edit signature and then in the editor area select the 'Insert Image' icon.
In the requestor that comes up, paste whichever of the following you wish to have.

https://www.auran.com/planetauran/images/tickets/trs2006.gif

and/or

ttps://www.auran.com/planetauran/images/tickets/trs2004.gif

and/or

ttps://www.auran.com/planetauran/images/tickets/utc.gif

(last two you have to put the 'h' at the beginning of the url)

PS works for avatars too.

Hi Amiga,

Thanks for the help...I tried to do what you said, but it didn't seem to work. I put in the whole address (as an https format) but it kept showing an broken picture link.

Any ideas as to why?

Gisa ^^

Here's a FAR easier way, go to your profile (click Profile at the top of this page), click Tickets, then click the other Tickets next to General, then highlight the tickets you see, click Ctrl C, (a quick way to copy), then come here and go to Edit Signature in the User CP, then click Ctrl V, (a quick way to paste).

Hi all
I'm trying to add the TRS06,TRS04 and UTC tickets to my sig although I have a problem.
The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:
  1. Your signature can not be longer than 128 characters excluding BB Code markup.
Any suggestions?

Just like these?

Auran have indicated in chat that this may be available some time in the future. With the recent updates and additions, I'm guessing it's only a matter of time until they get around to it.
