Using Routes Built with 2010 in 2009

I think there might be some confusion out there about what 2009 should run with the latest build 44653.

My understanding is all content created for 2010 would be error free in 2009 with build 44653. Is this not correct?

I recently read routes or sessions created in 2010 would not work properly in 2009. This doesn't make sense if one is running 2009 with build 44653. Could anyone confirm or explain this?

Thanks.

There are two features in TS2010 that may cause issues in TS2009: Layers, and speedtrees (the speedtrees are likely to be the bigger of the two problems)

Also, any content created for TS2010 Multiplayer will not work in TS2009 without changes.

Agree on Speedtrees since TS2009 users have no access to them.

Layers it depends, you might be able to fix it.
I took an older route done in two parts and merged them together. Despite being done as a TRS2004 route, somehow the merge caused TS2009 to have 2 layers in the merged route. Only when I combined the layers into one was that fixed.

That might work for a TS2010 route used in TS2009, I have not checked.

That's what I thought. I'm having problems with a demo session that bnsf50 created for some crossing gates. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=70516 He created a beta session and emailed to me and it seemed to work fine until I downloaded the revised version from the DLS. He said he thought the problem was because he created the demo session in 2010 and I was using 2009. I don't think that is the cause of my problem with the session not showing up in game.

I noticed on the other thread that you referred to that you had hardware acclerated texture compression on (ticked) - this should be turned off (unticked), then open for edit and recommit your assets.

Shane

EDIT: Can I verify the KUID of the revised session?

I assume you meant just the assets related the demo route and session. I followed your suggestion but I'm getting the same results.

Have you got the relevant route file as well? (Interlocking Gate Demo,<kuid2:39134:100275:1>)

I have noticed, on testing in Content Manager, that it is reporting faulty dependencies.

Shane

EDIT: The faulty asset appears to be MB crossing 90,<kuid:44423:40090>.
