Using CM v3.3 to search by kuid

I'm not able to search by kuid's using CM 3.3. I've tried using partial kuid's and the full kuid and nothing comes up.

What am I missing or what is the trick.

It's not helping

Cm for some reason doesn't find some kuids even though you have them installed.
Search under auther ID will find them.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried a 1/2 dozen different kuids that are installed and nothing works. I must be doing something wrong.

This happened to me a few months ago and I thought it was just me. It's good to see that this is a nice "feature" in the program.

It's too bad that the search filter isn't able to support wildcard searches like this:

694392:10%

Where the author ID is 694392 and this are 100 - 1000s of objects, but we don't remember the object number. Being able to do this allows the author to be the same and the last have be narrowed down.

The problem with the asset names and remembering the objects is sometimes they're a bit obtuse or very similar even after filtering and manually renaming objects.

Hmm, I did a quick test and it seems the following works over here:
xxxxxxx:xxxxxx
kuid:xxxxxxx:xxxxxx
<kuid:xxxxxxx:xxxxxx>

What doesn't work:
x:xxxxxx:xxxxxx:x
kuid2:xxxxxxx:xxxxxxx:x
<kuid2:xxxxxxx:xxxxxx:x>

It seems the whole kuid2 numbering system is left out of the search logic.

On a side note, if you haven't discovered this yourself, typing a '#' followed by the userID number in the Author filter will work as well as a name.

Cheers Jan, I have seen most of that before but forgot, again.
You dont often put sunny in your weather forecast, looking at the clouds here it will be the same very shortly.

Finding kuids is time consumimg. It is a pity that there are no wildcards available and that in the search engine the < > and kuid: could not have been assumed.. The format of the kuid to be entered in the search window is as follows.

For a single kiud <kuid:76096:3>

For multiple kuids <kuid:76096:3>,<kuid:76096:4>

I see I am too slow at replying

Kiud2's do work try <kuid2:76096:15618:1>,<kuid:55290:15601>,<kuid2:76096:15617:1>

I even got kuid2:76096:15618:1 to work.
